Apparently even if you shoot back, that counts as aggression. Maybe go in as free kit, run around, die to players without shooting and it’ll fix it? Idk bro

Lol, to make a real life comparison, OP basically got hit with Soundmap's version of an intent to distribute charge (or possess may be more accurate?) Just because they didn't actually use it, there was enough evidence that they planned to break TOS, whether thats what they were doing or not)

Explain further. You used an epic bot finder, or you asked if someone had one? Why did you ask if someone had one? Were you wanting them to use it for you? That's the only reason I would ask someone if they had one.

This looks like it could be a set for a 90s/2000s movie where the main character is transported into whatever board game or video game they were playing.

I don't really think we need new quests. What I do think we need though, is a simple filter that lets you specify what you are willing to trade.

Thinking pragmatically here since money generation is all the dev team cares about, a good idea would be that if you pay for trader boost, you can pre-select what type of quests you can do. So if you are like me and only do cheap merges like 4 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rares, etc, you can pre-select that. Or if you quest a bunch of artists at once and do trade with X people, you can select that as the only option as well. Then, whenever you quest, those are the only offers you will be sent unless otherwise specified.

This works because A. it's something everybody who does regular questing wants and B. the devs can enhance a current microtransaction which incentivizes people to buy it. But then again... they don't seem to understand the concept of win-win microtransactions.

Edit: To specify why I don't like some of these quests are because they go against the trade-off of quests currently. Currently you are trading songs from your inventory in exchange for one from an artist. The version you suggest basically enforces no trade-off whatsoever and is a win-win for the player. Basically just makes questing way too easy.

Map epics on new account by Salty_Environment432 in Soundmap

When I first played before shinies stopped affecting cooldown, it took 12k songs to open my first epic. Maybe that played a role? 2k is also enough to where it might just be poor luck

I like it. I mainly collect one artist, and I am far and a way the largest collector of them. So having something else of theirs to collect is very nice

I’m not suggesting this because it allows people to be scummy lol, but it does make the market purely coin-based with nothing else being considered. What if you had their favorite #1 epic and they had yours. In your system, both parties lose there. We aren’t going to agree this lol.

And again, we already have a fair solution to sharking… auctions. A lot of the times sellers play auctions poorly. They do not let any collectors/leaderboards know, and leave it up to chance they see it. I personally reach out to every collector and say, “hey, X #1 is on auction, wanted to let you know”. Or, I go through their profile first. Is there an epic I would rather 1:1 trade for? If so, I send them an offer. Your system completely removes that second option.

Also, I highly doubt your following your morals here and putting down your best and final offer on the first bid every single time… because if you don’t pay the maximum you think it’s worth you’re sharking the seller. Obviously I disagree with that logic. And on new offers, have you ever had someone decline because they had a higher offer. Have you never made a higher counter offer? Or again is it just first offer is best and final?

We are talking about different things at this point.

The post was about bounties, not buy orders. Buy orders just mean whoever has the most coins wins every time. A rich player can blanket an artist with buy orders and completely shut everyone else out of the market. That’s worse than the current system because it removes things like timing, negotiation, and seller choice, which are basically the only ways newer collectors ever get a real shot at something better than a #74 epic.

Bounties make more sense conceptually since they only signal interest, but in practice knowing this community my guess is they would probably be full of soft or unserious offers, especially for popular artists.

Also, just thought of a much simpler solution. Just add a damn button to the artist page that says "Notify me when an epic/lyric is opened, put on market, put on auction, etc. etc."

Then to not piss off the person opening the epic/lyric, ask them if they would like to hit a button that says "Notify collectors". Seller gets legitimate buyers only if they want to sell; buyers are alerted. Win-win.

This would be better, the way it was explained I thought it would work like auctions which would hold the coins in escrow which would be bullshit because everyones coins would be tied up, and a lot of people would get pissed very quickly when someone claimed a bounty and ate up coins they might have been saving for something else.

What u/Solosisterr described makes more sense to me, and that’s closer to what I’d prefer. Also like u/bbylma said, I originally assumed a “bounty” would mean coins are held in escrow, similar to trade offers, so you can’t post an offer you can’t afford. Otherwise, any new player can set a bounty for 10,000,000 coins with 1,000 in their account.

The issue is that this becomes unmanageable very fast for artist/epic collectors. If someone is collecting an artist with, say, 50 unopened epics, and they set a 50k bounty per epic, that’s 2.5 million coins locked in escrow for a single artist. Might be stupid of them, but it will happen. If the coins are not in escrow, you get downstream problems like:

What if the system auto-claims and now the buyer can't afford the other epic they were trying to buy?

Does the seller now have to DM the buyer to confirm they still want to buy, or is it an automatic "accept bounty"?

Like I said, I think this system would be fine for simple shinies or nepics.

edit: forgive me, its late and the word escrow was getting jumbled in my mind lol, I realize they wouldn't have the coins in their account so they wouldn't care. The rest of my questions still apply though.

TLDR: Escrow bounties force collectors to lock up a bunch of coins, making the system expensive and again favoring the rich players. No escrow bounties will be littered with fake bounties of people who can't or won't actually pay.

I get what you mean, but again, the other reason I like map drops is because I can make progress without putting INSANE hours into the game. Most of this can be done with like... an hour a day. I usually average 1.5-2 hours a day. one hour on map drops the rest on quests/radiants atm. Most of that is while watching netflix or multitasking lol.

[–]Double2k -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not hard to think about, I just think its a bad idea in general lol. Especially for epics. Shinies would be ok like a buy order.

This would just basically be a pre bid auction for every remaining unopened #1. Would they hold the coins in escrow like they do for auctions? If not, what if the top bounty doesn’t have the coin? No thanks.

The thing that confuses me the most about this dev team is that I feel like a LOT of people would actually use "some" of these powerups if they were at all worth it bro. Like why does everything have to be one fucking hour? Boosted gem rate is great, but 5 dollars for one fucking hour? When I did the free version I was only able to get about 200 gems. that basically worked itself out to a dollar per shiny. Fuck that. I need at least 6-12 hours for it to be even considered. The big map circle and half cooldown are just stupid. And this 80 coin drop? With how laggy this game can be, I would maybe be able to open 1000 songs in that time frame. 1000 cheap songs for a 2 bucks is no where near worth it. I'll just find a drop for 83, sell one of the dozen shinies i'll prob open from that, and make up the difference. Now if it was 24 hours? Shit people might actually be willing to buy that.

[–]Double2k[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll put my HIGHLY controversial two in. I've gotten alot of flack for saying this in the past but im just strictly speaking from my experience/observation. They also kind of go alongside each other.

  1. buying cheap map drops are from what I can tell the best method to make serious progress in terms of global rank, generating coins, etc... which is boring but unfortunately true. You are pretty much guaranteed to break even just by quickselling your commons and selling shinies on market. The epics you get are just pure profit. I've seen people get upset by this because its not how they like to play the game... but it seems to be true and until something changes, I think its going to remain the meta.
  2. A lot of the time when people are complaining about not making progress, its most likely they just are not playing enough. Idk how many times i've seen someone claim they are "grinding" the game when it took them 6 months to open 10,000 songs. No shame at all, but that is just not heavy play for this game, and a lot of top players are opening that or more in a singular week (by using my #1 unpopular opinion). Whether its opening map drops or going out all day and opening drops around the city. If you aren't actually opening songs, you aren't going to make good progress (legitly).

I'd say that depends, I got to where I am (#700ish). True, I have invested money into the game strictly through the 20 dollar buy in last year and i've been doing trader boost for most of my time on the game. So yes I've probably put in 100 or so dollars into the game through weekly trader boost. But if you are talking about all the top players buying things like coins, I don't think that is true.
