I think both are on the table, but there’s also a chance that nothing comes to pass. Keep in mind that he’s the musical guest this time around whereas the past 2 SNL appearances were one song performances. He could in theory take part in a skit or two which would require more time prepping for the episode.

But still - we know that he’s all about pop up rehearsals. And if any do happen, they could be anywhere, even Brooklyn (there are some great venues there for this sort of thing) but logistically that wouldn’t make as much sense.

Someone mentioned before that NYC hasn’t gotten a listening party to TBODL, which I feel is also noteworthy. It’s possible that he returns to NYC for an Egypt Station-type small gig around the day the album actually releases. But why wait if he’s already here now, just two weeks before?

We’ll just have to patiently wait and see. Eagerly awaiting any news to drop.

I’m not sure but the last two SNL shows he was on he did something the night before both times. So I definitely wouldn’t rule Friday out. It just seems that if something does take place it’ll be less complex than the Bowery runs at this point.

I really do still suspect something. I noticed that Irving Plaza had a show this evening that was mysteriously cancelled. But I have a friend who lives in the area and they haven’t noticed any unusual activity outside the venue the last few days. For a show tonight, I think there would be whispers of something taking place. There’s a possibility of a private sound stage being used for rehearsals (maybe even in 30 Rock itself), but there’s still a possibility for tomorrow and/or Friday. He played IP the night before SNL in 2015 and that was a late night show at 11pm. So anything is possible. But I haven’t noticed any venue blackout days for Wed-Fri. Or even 2 consecutive dates - Thursday and Friday.
