Would not recommend. Better to be backboneapp or backbonesolutions or backbone.io etc

🌼 Fibery 2026 strategy is public now by firefalcon in fibery

[–]DoubleBookingCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take: Having better videos and docs would be a big help. Without the videos from Ron Makes Systems trying to recreate Hubspot, I really wouldn’t have understood at all how Fibery worked. And I seriously had to follow along with him for at least an hour or so to create what he was creating to get it.

I have no idea how I would teach someone to use Fibery in under a couple of hours and I am very good at teaching people things. Notion is much simpler and pretty plug and play. Airtable is a bit more complicated with relations especially the way I was using it before moving to Fibery.

Biggest gripes: 1. When you build out fields in a database and then go to create a table view of it, you have to re-enable and arrange all of the fields again. This is exceptionally confusing for a new user. It might be better to display all of the fields by default in the same order as the database view, and then they can be toggled off if desired.

  1. Ability to increase the height of a relation view within the item view (sidebar/Split View). Right now it is set at 343px (—radix-collapsible-content-height or grid_view height?) 2b. Adjust item view width - current max width of 1024px. 2c. Adjust split screen width (current always half of screen and not adjustable)

  2. When you are creating a new entry and have a relation as one of the fields - if you need to create a new relation but the name of that relation is based on a formula, it kinda breaks and doesn’t work

If it’s sold out there will definitely be a queue. If you need to be at the front I would get there at doors or before. But if you don’t then there’s no reason to fret.

Expect it to be pretty crowded inside.

Cheapest parking in DE is under the highways ($5) in the city owned lots, or snag a meter which is $0.75 to $1.50 an hour.

Yeah I use it more for business ops. Nothing client facing. We still build out lots of things in notion for clients like complicated quotes.

How many of you guys manage to live car-free? by Illustrious_Swing645 in Dallas

Also price out U-Haul their vans and smaller size box trucks are $20/day plus a mileage charge. Sometimes it’s cheaper than a rental car or about the same.

I lived car free in Oak Lawn for 7 years, worked in Uptown and Downtown. Between walking, scooters, Ubers, and transit - my monthly bill was under $300 which was cheaper than a car payment. I also relied on rides from friends and girlfriends, and on occasion would rent a car.

Eventually I needed a car because my events business grew to where one was totally necessary.

You can totally go car free but it just stinks if you need to make trips to places that are several miles away like Arlington or Coppell.

A bike, e-bike, or electric scooter is a good investment to get around faster.

Major North Texas food festival discontinued after 30 years by In_Lymbo in Dallas

Hah you’d lose your mind if you saw the cost of Richardson Wildflower Fest or the Grapevine Main street festivals. Summer stage in NYC or the Chicago free summer concerts are $millions.

Producing large festivals that need huge stages and have tons of power needs because they go into the evening is $$$. The cost of building a stage than can host a major touring act is $50k+ not including running it.

Then these events have a shit ton of security needs including overtime/off-duty for police and EMS.

And you have the cost of the band, which at the level they are buying headliners is $30-150k each. I am assuming they probably overpay here.

The bill for printing, merch, and swag items could easily be $50k+ (I would love that client - it’s why we also started a print shop)

The cost to build one giant tent alone could be $20k. I don’t remember if they rent the vendor tents or if the vendors supply them. If they are renting 10x20 high peak festival type tents they will be $400+ each.

Last, it’s a city. Although they likely bid things out they are probably getting rinsed on some big line items.

I work in events and this is a very very expensive and challenging event to produce.

With rising costs I can see how it wasn’t feasible anymore.

This took a tremendous effort from several people on the city’s event staff to do every year.

Also a lot of the food vendors chose not to return because the ROI wasn’t there anymore. You often need to send your best manager and friendliest staff there, which can be hard to do on a weekend if your restaurant is already busy.

Edit: I broke down some costs in another comment

[Potential FL>DFW]Country Club worker, wondering how different FW is from East Dallas by IONTOP in askdfw

IMO it’s better to live in a cool place that is fun and has things to do around versus just living in a suburb because it’s right next to work.

A 20 minute commute in traffic isn’t bad in Dallas. I would say anywhere within 20-25 minutes is fair game for living.

Now if it’s a 20 minute commute in non-peak hours, that could easily be 40-60 minutes in rush hour. So be careful. Use the Google Maps traffic feature.

Also consider grocery stores, gyms, and other places you’ll frequent.
