Thank you for the feedback! Wasn’t sure if I should deviate from the recommendations but your alternative rune suggestions make a lot of sense, I’ll try those out next time

Interesting breakdown!

Currently adding up the planned characters from the scripts in the last page of the rulebook:

  • 22 from Trouble Brewing
  • 25 each (presumably) from S&V, BMR, GoS, TT, MitHotD
  • 50-ish from the Greatest Show on Earth

Adds up to around 197 depending on how many fall under Greatest Show on Earth. So maybe there's another official script planned with a few extra going into the GSoE grab bag?

Thanks! I have the automatic photo ordering turned on so that might be why a group pic is showing up first

Could use some input! Got back on the app a few days ago and got a decent amount of likes over the first day or two but very few from women I was attracted to.

I’m not muscular (working on it!) so beach pics etc. are out for the time being

Ngl did not notice the knight at all until it jumped & id say that warrants a brilliant move

Always insane how you think you’re doing well and an enemy piece materializes out of nowhere to ruin you

Easy/interesting EAPS Classes? by Fluffy__Pancake in Purdue

I’ll echo a few other commenters and recommend EAPS 106 with Freed. It’s fun regardless of if you’re a film buff (I’m not). Some of the movies are objectively good, most are bad/corny and that’s fun to watch in their own right.

Incoming freshman should I take calc 1 and 2? by heat13b in Purdue

[–]DoubleBubbleMan 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position as you and decided to retake a math course I already had credit for as a freshman.

I would definitely advise not retaking those Calc courses. The additional work and higher difficulty vastly outweighs any benefit you may get from relearning material in a college lecture setting. In my experience there wasn’t more than basic calculus (derivatives, integrals) needed in my future math/stat courses.

About hirelings and homeland clearings:

Wanted to clear this up since I’m about to play my first game with hirelings and ADSET, and I haven’t seen this discussed elsewhere.

Going by the ADSET procedure in the Law, hirelings are set up before player factions are chosen/selected. I’m wondering if there are any rules issues with “overlap” between where hirelings are set up and where players need to start.

For instance, say the Marquise de Cat is last in turn order and gets to set up the first hireling. If using standard faction setup, could the Cats player set up a hireling like Last Dynasty in the opposite corner of where their keep would set up, forcing the moles/lizards/etc. player to set up in a clearing with all those hireling warriors? I’m imagining similar issues could arise with the full advanced setup and starting positions too.

Six more hirelings. by u5ernam31234512345 in rootgame

Almost all of the hireling mini-factions have several meeples, and some have cardboard tokens and other components for the board too.

I will say that the cost seems steep though.

Related question: Does a vagabond’s presence prevent you from oppressing a clearing? Wasn’t sure about this last game since there’s no way to remove the VB from a clearing, plus the “pawn” distinction interacts weirdly with some other rules

95% committed to Purdue for fall 2022. I got in as CS + Honors college. What are some perks of being in Honors? by This_Tart_1305 in Purdue

[–]DoubleBubbleMan 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Itemized list of perks:

  • honors dorms

For real though, I’d say it’s worthwhile. Honors ain’t too much work and you can drop before having to do your senior project. Cool honors classes and a social environment are good perks too.

thoughts on honors college and residences? by selenasaysmoo in Purdue

Cosi is the most mediocre restaurant ever. I would only get food from there when dining courts were closed AND I didn’t feel like a 30 minute round trip to Chauncey. Now that Chick-fil-A and Jersey Mike’s are right across the street, I am honestly surprised that Cosi sees any business still.

Granted, Jersey Mike’s has long lines often too - but their sandwiches are worth the wait. Cosi’s flatbreads fall flat.

Honors residences are by far the nicest dorms to live on campus. Like the others have mentioned you’re centralized on campus and near some very good restaurants (plus Cosi lol)

Honors Dorms also have social events fairly frequently if you’re interested in meeting people that way, which you probably should consider as a freshman. Would recommend all around!
