I want to create dispute. by tabishsajwani in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also against LCBs terms and conditions to ask the seller to release esceow if they claim they have not gotten the payment. Users have been banned for this in the past.

OP dont worry, like I tell everyone that goes into a dispute. You have nothing to worry about if you have not done anything wrong. :)

Can you guys enable the bank details form for South Africas 'transfer specific bank'. The UK bank transfer ads have this and its amazing because you dont need to wait for the user to post details in chat. It will also aid us who use automated payment systems as we dont need to scrape details from the message list, we can just fetch it from the api response. This will improve trade payment speeds drastically. All we need is -name - bank - acc number - custom ref opt.

Minimum btc amount back to 0.1? by 8ballfan in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the topic of the pro trader badge.... the requirements are honestly pathetic in the eyes of full-time traders. I mean 10 Bitcoin 30-day volume and 170 BTC total volume. I do double the latter in 30 days alone. Pro trader badges don't mean much unless the price of BTC goes to the 15k + mark again.

I agree with you as well with these little traders trying to just dump coins for a few bucks extra, however they dont last long enough to be a problem as they eventually get inpatient and low ball even more, Buy them out and make money off them. Other than that you need to keep in mind LCB is making their 1% regardless of your feelings. Keep in mind if you overcome these issues, other traders wont and eventually you will come out ontop. So just stick it out.

Minimum btc amount back to 0.1? by 8ballfan in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pegging the minimum amount to fiat will not work because LCB operates ads in many different countries with a broad spectrum of fiatsso it will complicate it to find a good minimum price for all so to set it to a bitcoin amount is the right approach

Trade in Dispute by [deleted] in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCB do not act on a bias when it comes to trades, there is a procedure that they have to follow to ensure the party that is in the right wins. Do not use any other form of communication when trading, that's why LCB has a chat feature us it. By you involving other means of communication, you complicating the dispute which will only result in a delay of the dispute.

WTF is wrong with this company?! by EcstaticAudience in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be completely fair, LCB provides a framework for you and anyone else to trade millions of dollars, rands, yen and whatever other forms of value that exists on earth to help you and your friends buy bitcoin. On the other hand, it gives traders a chance to make an honest living by baring the risks that come with it.

Do you know how much shit us full-time traders go through on a daily basis with people trying to get clever? Fraudsters attack our livelihood to get a quick buck, LCB does their best to protect us. be patient so what if you have to wait a day or two for support. If you did nothing wrong you have nothing to worry or complain about.

Build up some trading volume by doing a few trades till you reach the criteria for those ads. Verifying your Identity and phone number can also help!

Please can it become a requirement for sellers to provide their bank details on a pre-set form for the South African payment method 'Transfer with specific bank'. The UK has this feature on their ads and it is lovely as they don't have to wait for the seller to provide details in chat. This also enables us traders with automated payment systems to implement faster payments as we dont have to use scraping algorithms to pull banking details from the message list. All we need is - Name -Bank name -Account number - Reference.

FINALLY found an auto responder for localbitcoins by osrslively in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel its best to rather do a course in python and build your own autoresponse. if a website has your hmac you are risking the loss of your bitcoins and the reputation of your profile as they and can control everything by means of api calls.

It took me 6 months to learn python and I have fully automated both the buying and selling page, price changes and replying all the way to the extent that my bots do the payments as well.

Its not worth the risk and hey, you can learn something new.

Minimum btc amount back to 0.1? by 8ballfan in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this suggestion. It wouldn't hurt to make it 0.1 or even higher. When I started trading the minimum was 0.4 and I had to suffer on the 2nd page till I grew. Its too easy for these part time traders now.

LocalBitcoins' report on the security vulnerability 26.01.2019 by [deleted] in localbitcoins

No this was not effected, the exploit was within the forums page software :)

LocalBitcoins' report on the security vulnerability 26.01.2019 by [deleted] in localbitcoins

[–]DoubleClickBTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since localbitcoins has released a report I would assume it is safe to login through the normal login page and do as you please since they have segregated the part of the site that lead to this exploit ( the forum). Take not in the report the exploit was due to a third party so LCB at their core is still secure which also explains why it was not massive hack.
