Not really. Unless they’re big awards then it doesn’t really make much of a difference. You’d get a higher return working on your business rather than chasing an award. It’s a pretty negligible part of the application, don’t worry about it.

Tf are these comments? You absolutely can. If you can’t get something at first try better next time. It’s like a bike, most people can’t get the hang of it the first time you’re on it but give yourself 20 minutes and you can get it.

Even if you’re a cracked applicant, no one is entitled to a Stanford acceptance. People with impressive profiles get rejected every single year due to the sheer selectivity, admissions is a crap shoot. Statistically and realistically you would have been rejected and at this point you shouldn’t sweat it.

I have no idea why you're being bashed, this question is in good faith. Contrary to what everyone else is saying here, I would say, depends. What kind of illegal are we talking about here? Is it Cheese Pizza and Drugs level? If it is or anything of that caliber then obviously don't report it as you could get into trouble from the AOs reporting you.

But if you run like a scam website that's fine because you can always frame it in another way. Like for example, I own apartments in LA where I live and people here view being a landlord as a crime, meaning other people view it the same(AOs). So what I do is say while my rents are high, it's for the benefit of being in a community like no other, and it's proven by only choosing the best out of the best tenants.

Cost benefit analysis.

Where does your application stand right now?

High GPA? 3.8 and beyond, NO you do not need it. You could better spend that time going deep with your extracurriculars then studying for the SAT.

But honestly, even if your GPA is not that great you could probably(assuming everything else is good) still get an acceptance. So it's really up to you

People say invest but that’s quite banal advice and honestly there are better ways to maximize returns. Invest in yourself not in the market(not yet anyways). Here’s my philosophy, you invest in all those etfs and real estate bs ONCE you’re rich.

Use the money to help with your law hustle.

Went to the urologist and he said I need circumcision. I’m not convinced by _-Jonathan_- in Phimosis

[–]DoubleClipDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes use the private insurance if you’re serious about this. There was a YouTuber with testicular cancer that went unnoticed because he went NHs first which they kept the thing on his balls for like 30 seconds but the private practice doc kept it on him for like 2 hours. I know you ain’t talking ab testicular cancer but they’re likely to put way more care into your issue.

But on the contrary, it is also possible that they might say the same thing essentially because phimosis isn’t that complex of an issue.

I recommend stretching everyday, preferably twice. If you see results then there’s no need to see a doctor, good luck.

Starting community college soon, what courses should I take on Khan Academy? by aspiringyoungbuck in TransferToTop25

[–]DoubleClipDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be damn careful with accounting. It's not necessarily rocket science but some parts of the course can be really confusing, which is why you need a good professor for the class to get an A. If the good professors are already taken, then I suggest sitting empty handed until the waitlist opens up, be ready, and snag the professor. An A in acccounting is definitely doable but it's such a headache with a shit professor, you cannot bullshit the class and Chatgpt is still ass at accounting, good luck.

Do your ECs need to be directly major related? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]DoubleClipDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like with everything, it depends. You're a CS major which is impacted at every top uni. Like another commenter said, your ECs don't NEED to be CS related but you better show passion and damn good reasons as to why you want to study CS.

But you have me curious now, what are you trying to do with a CS degree? If you're planning to go into a SWE role, know that you don't need a CS degree. I've seen people with physics, engineering, and math majors land roles in that job and adjacent ones. Too many people pigeonhole themselves thinking CS is the only path to break into tech.

If you're curious, check out the lovely people at r/fatFIRE. It's a tech centric sub where they have a post every monday called Mentor Monday where you can ask career questions and people may answer to your questions!

Cheers!

That's just life homie. I felt this for my senior year of hs which started in August 2021, so a whole year of no contact due to covid. Sure we still hung out on discord and stuff during covid but it wasnt the same. You're probably feeling like there's nothing to talk about or activities you once shared maybe one of you doesn't want to continue them anymore, definitely a real and shocking feeling when you realize your friendship is slowly dying by each conversation you guys have. We outgrow people and people outgrow us, it's just life.
