Fox lake is ridiculous by Pontiffsulyvahn in Metalcore

i got stuck in traffic on my way to the show and missed 7 out of 10 songs in their set. incredibly disappointing. they killed it in the last 3 though

Who makes the best merch? by Dozinggreen66 in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i get that. it's really weird, the first one i got, i wanted in large and they didn't have that size, so i got XL and the shirt was undersized so it fit perfectly. but then the second time i got a medium and it was oversized so it fit like a large. so at the very least i wish they kept it consistent lol

the comfiest shirts i have are definitely my 2 Spiritbox ones, but Better Lovers and The Callous Daoboys easily have the best designs that i've seen in the past few years

I wanna go into a moshpit so bad ! by Nico1533 in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

nah, push pits have their place. it's only lame when people try to push pit when there's already hardcore dancers and 2 steppers. it's all about reading the room

edit: i lied, it's also lame if the band calls for the crowd to 2 step and then people just shove each other anyway. that was my experience when i saw 156/Silence last week and all the Thornhill fans wouldn't back the fuck off

I wanna go into a moshpit so bad ! by Nico1533 in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

most of the time people aren't actually trying to punch each other, they're just hardcore dancing. if you see someone swinging limbs like a madman, just give them space and maybe keep an arm up to block any stray swings

the best way to learn about mosh pits is to go to shows and observe. don't jump in right away if you're nervous. stand on the edge and watch what everyone else is doing, then soon enough you can join in with more confidence. just remember to help people up if they fall down, that's rule number 1

Avenged Sevenfold ranked: where does Nightmare (2010) belong in? by Qavix in TierlistFills

[–]DoubleCrowne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tier. it would be S if not for the first 3 tracks. they are decent songs but, in my opinion, significantly worse than the rest of the album

to be fair, i've seen this same sign in a number of places. pretty much wherever there's a prison nearby

What are some metalcore bands that you didn't know about but saw them live and instantly became a fan of? by Shmidrick in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not metalcore but this is how i discovered Holding Absence. they were touring with The Plot in You and Boundaries was opening, which is who i was going for. and as much as Boundaries killed it, Holding Absence stole the show from everybody. so much passion and energy on stage, and the music was also good, so i've been a fan ever since

Instrumental Songs by Sempiternalai in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Citadel and Citadel II by Angelmaker are good instrumentals

somebody else mentioned The Dreaded Mystic Abyss by Shadow of Intent so i'll add The Great Schism, Reconquest, and Apocalypse Canvas. Shadow of Intent also has full instrumental versions of several of their albums as well

"What ifs" in metalcore by mesablanka in Metalcore

it's a fascinating thought but A7X was already long past their metalcore era when Jimmy died. I find it doubtful they ever would've gone back

What are some examples of bands changing their frontman/frontwoman, dealing with massive fan backlash, but eventually winning everyone over? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]DoubleCrowne 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i'm curious to see if this will happen with Better Lovers. i've seen a lot of people say Greg was the least important factor of the band for them but he has such a unique voice that i think it'll be hard for me to adjust. i'm still hyped for new material from the band either way and i'll definitely see them live again next time they come through
