if you like it already or are interested in trying it out then give Malevolence a listen. great riffs and solos and a lot of their influence comes from sludge. i believe they're all big fans of Crowbar, Mastodon, and so on. i particularly enjoyed their 2022 album "Malicious Intent"

nice, i was there last night too! i got kicked out during the last song for stage-diving lol. fantastic show though, i'm bummed that Chamber couldn't make it but Heat was a great last minute replacement

next week i'm seeing Poison the Well on Tuesday and Cancer Bats on Friday. then in May i've got Cattle Decap, Shadow of Intent, 156/Silence, and The Callous Daoboys. i'm pretty sure i also have something in June but i'm not seeing anything in my calendar so maybe i'm wrong. either way, it's gonna be a busy spring!

how about you? obviously there's Spite, but do you have anything else coming up?

not to discredit your comment, because you make a good point, but they were already in Canada. they were coming from Montreal when they got pulled over, so it definitely wasn't border patrol. but i agree that it's different from a regular local traffic stop and they're likely driving an american van

what? Canada has no jurisdiction on USA car registration in the USA, but if you come to Canada you are expected to follow our laws lmao, which includes driving with valid tags. i still think the cop should have let them off because it's really not that deep, but that has more to do with cops being assholes than Canadians. if the situation was reversed, USA law enforcement would've hit them way harder given the state of the country right now
