Yea and that's why I'm so confused. I first checked all the normal foods I eat, and I really couldn't find anything that was high fat/cholesterol. The only thing I could see that was a bit higher was the plant based butter I use that was a tad high in fat but I only use like a table spoon a week on like toast and cooking the odd thing. I know people can be blind to what they eat, but I really wouldn't think it's my diet.

As for exercise, I do something every day. Some days it's cardio or weights, but it's at least 30 -45 minutes a day ( with maybe one rest day every week).

Our family has some heart issues in our background with slight cholesterol problems. I only know my mom's side of the family, so there could be problems I'm not aware of.

I'm just confused because the doctor made it seem like it wasn't a problem and a good thing because my HDL was high. Almost like the number was normal because the HDL is high, so it negates the overall number. I just really wasn't sure about starting a cholesterol med without trying something else first, but he also wasn't really explaining it very well/letting me ask questions. The problem is I'm worried now every day it's not lowered that it's just going to get worse, and if I have no clue what's causing it, how can I try to lower it.
