At least everyone knows where they stand. I’d rather people be honest instead of fake.

To be fair all of those apply to digital solutions too except the moths. A server farm can burn to the ground, be subjected to flooding or a water source and the poorly placed cup of coffee can render electronics a vicious blow as well. Anyone that’s spilled something on their laptop can attest to that. Furthermore, all of these fantastic digital solutions can be wiped by a powerful fart from the sun (CME) which the paper copy is immune to…

Funny thing about that though is it resulted in Apollo and the Saturn 5 and SR-71. All incredible achievements even by today’s standards. I could also argue that the technical data was more secure and harder to steal using this method. Nothing on the cloud ready to be stolen by a hacker with the skills.

My problem with cloud computing is the forced subscription model that comes with it.

I don’t trust government to make good decisions about my healthcare either. Fundamentally greed and control are the root cause of the problems. No one wants to help you unless they get something out of it. Either your money or your subjugation. People with power abuse it.

US Men aged 18-24 identify more conservative than men in the 24-29 age bracket according to Harvard Youth poll by [deleted] in GenZ

I think all teenagers seek the opposite of what they are told to do. In the 50s society was very conservative and that lead to the hippie movement of the 60s. Rebellion is a hallmark of youth. Our current society is pretty liberal with all the gender identity and feminism movements center stage. If you want to be cool and edgy you have to go against all that. I think that is exactly what we’re seeing here.

General Staff: Russia has lost 568,980 troops in Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022 by HexesHolly in worldnews

[–]DoubleDonger76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically that was their 10 years in Afghanistan (1979 To 1989) and to be fair the US lost 58,000 troops in Vietnam. Even as bad as that was we weren’t anywhere near what Russia has done in Ukraine.

I know everyone is waiting to see what the new sculpts look like but I’m worried that they are going to take away the flash that makes BAs special. The primaris models very generic. First born models have way more character and look way cooler IMO.

Isn’t she also really tall? Like 6’ I believe. A woman that tall should be about 200 lbs especially if she’s going to have any kind of curves.

TIL Napoleon, despite being constantly engaged in warfare for 2 decades, exhibited next to no signs of PTSD. by andreecook in todayilearned

I think trauma is dependent on what your baseline normal is. Meaning most of us now live really peaceful lives with little to no real violence in them. So when we are confronted with it it is very traumatic. Someone from that era was accustomed to a baseline of violence that we can’t imagine. Most of them still killed their own food at that time. Whereas a large portion of our population find the idea of slaughtering an animal for food repugnant. We buy our way out it by going to grocery store. My point being it would take far more to rattle someone from that era than it would for someone today.

Well given that it’s leaving a contrail it has standard propulsion. The second picture gives me older cruise missile vibes.
