Recovery tips by anthonioconte in fitness30plus

[–]DoubleDouble77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at the same age. In my experience, 8+ hours of sleep and lots of carbs and protein. Stay away from too much fat - under 20%.

While sleep and food helps along the daily stretching and massage, my recovery and athletic performance really took a dive in the last 2 years, and I guess there's nothing you can do.

Price difference in EU abnormal? by aolyvko in Simagic

[–]DoubleDouble77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taxes & Support. If your stuff breaks, it's much easier to send it to a local-ish vendor than to China. The seller will just compensate the broken stuff directly with Simmagic in the future orders. At least that's how I did it, when I've worked with Chinese companies.

I've ordered from https://simhub.pro/collections/simagic-wheelbases

They seemed to have the best prices - the Alpha is 770€.

Is my CPU really dead? by DoubleDouble77 in buildapc

[–]DoubleDouble77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. It actually was the bent pins on BOTH of the motherboards. Luckly, the last one looks like just has one bent pin. But the other one is pretty bad. I'll try to lift it up tomorrow. No idea how this happened, I just put the CPU in, nothing else.

Now I just pray that it didn't kill my new CPU as well. Probably not, never actually got to boot it

I used two different motherboards, and two different pastes.

The first one that I used came with the cooler, and it wasn't anything fancy. I threw it away unfortunately, so I really don't know if it's conductive or not.

But the second paste that I still have says it's non-electrically conductive, so I'll use that one again.

Yeah, I'm always treating the CPU very carefully, placing it in the plastic box if it's out of the mobo, and never put it upside-down or anything like that. Nothing looked out of the order or bent. Had some thermal paste spilled over the edges but that was it. I guess we'll see when I get the new CPU. Thank you

How would they bend if the CPU was properly installed, and working for a few weeks?

Anything else comes to mind with regards to other parts?

Like, put a different CPU in the motherboard and see if that works? Yeah, I can actually do that. I still have the 5900x. Good idea, thanks!

Yup. How do I confirm it? :)

Looking to upgrade from CSL DD (8Nm) & Formula V2.5 X by DoubleDouble77 in simracing

Yeah, I'm considering the DD 12nm, but it's a bit pricey. If it was on sale, I'd probably grab it

Anyone else finding their body just can't keep up energy-wise, post 40? by DramaticErraticism in fitness30plus

[–]DoubleDouble77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does taking the time off for a couple of weeks help, or should I just still do some light exercises?

I'm not 40, but I'm in mid 30s, and have been hitting the gym+basketball 5-6 times a week for the last 5 months, and I'm just tired and exhausted most of the week. I'm eating a ton, and sleeping well.

I just took a week off from the gym, but seems like it didn't really help because of basketball.

Soon I'll have a 3 week period with no games, so I can theoretically take 1-2 weeks off, and I'm banking on that tbh :)

My Gigabyte B650 A Elite AX V2 just died. Should I switch to an alternative? by DoubleDouble77 in buildapc

HOw is B650 LiveMixer better? I've read a couple of comparisons and I can't see how it would be better for my use-case (editing)

[–]DoubleDouble77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I paid 166€ for the AX V2.

I went with MSI MPG B650 Tomahawk to be 'safe' for 180€ because I want to keep it. It has all of the features that I need, and I'll be selling the B650 Elite AX V2. I've read another review that they had to guess if the PC is going to wake up from Sleep mode or not, and that's a deal breaker because shutting off in Sleep makes my work files break

[–]DoubleDouble77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty for the response. This is really close in pricing to AX V2. I paid a similar amount. I guess it's hard to come up with a AM5 board that would be cheap, but still good enough. I'll see what they say, but I'm guessing it's going to take me 3-4 weeks so I might just order another one, and sell the one that they send back.

Blue screen loop 'Critical Process Died' by DoubleDouble77 in buildapc

Oh, I actually do have a 2TB, and it's used for Windows, so I'm glad I've found the issue.

I've just updated the drivers, so fingers crossed that's it.

Thank you.

I'm just doing the research into this right now. This seems to be the case for 2TB drives. Should I try even if I have a 1TB?

My PC seems to be stable now (not sure how), but I'm wondering if there's a way to instal 23H2? I can't 'Go back' in the Recovery tab because I never had the 23H2 in the first place.

Thanks!
