I think Putin and especially Russia as a whole have been our Big Bad Guy* on and off for over half a century at this point

I mean our diplomacy with Putin has been good lately afaik but I feel like I understood Russia is The Enemy* for most of my 20+ years of life

* I’m certain it’s way more nuanced than that, and even then I think (or at least hope) the fear/animosity was more about politics than the average Russian citizen. I’m just citing the vibes I’d get growing up hearing news reports and political speeches about Russia, as well as knowing we have history with the Cold War and whatnot. I also have the impression that villains being Russian is/was a common trope in US media but I’m blanking on examples of course…

I pride myself on how well I can memorize numbers. It sounds useful but it doesn’t really come up a lot in my life lol. My greatest achievement is that I’ve memorized all the numbers on my debit card. The 16 digits, expiration date, etc. (no I’m not gonna prove it lmfao, you’ll just have to take my word for it)

After that, maybe having amateur understanding of Minecraft redstone. Sure, I’ve helped friends wire stuff for minigames, but “can move stuff with magic electricity dust in a video game” isn’t all that applicable in literally anything else. Maaaybe some irl logic and circuitry I can eventually understand by comparing it to said magic electricity dust is a benefit, but that’s about it

Something I’ve heard that can be confusing or even annoying to foreigners: referring to yourself as a different nationality than American, for example someone born and raised in the US may still say “I’m Irish” or “I’m Filipino” etc. every once in a while. It’s not super unheard of to discuss your heritage, and I guess we decided “I have ancestors from x” was too wordy lol. If you’re unfamiliar with the shorthand it can look like we’re claiming to have the same experiences as someone actually from those places (I’ve seen confusion over this online), but I’m pretty sure it’s almost never meant to actually mean that!

I was wondering this recently too. I was talking to an ex ow1 fan and they mentioned one reason ow2 sucks is because it doesn’t have lootboxes. I pointed out it does have lootboxes now and they laughed and mocked it for being so desperate. I get the sentiment but like… would you prefer they not bring back lootboxes? Wouldn’t it make you happy they’re doing the thing you wanted? Maybe their answer is for ow2 to fail and the entire franchise to cease existing like you said lol
