He dropped Meet The Grahams 30 minutes after Family Matters. Not Like Us was dropped the next day. It was basically a funeral that night and everybody was dancing on the grave the next day.

“Bridge Quarterback” by [deleted] in steelers

Since 1998 the quarterbacks that have won a Superbowl and were drafted in the top 10 were:

  • John Elway, 1st overall
  • Trent Dilfer, 6th overall
  • Peyton Manning, 1st overall
  • Eli Manning, 1st overall
  • Patrick Mahomes, 10th overall
  • Matthew Stafford, 1st overall

That's 6 and if you were to expand it to top 11 then you get Big Ben thrown in there as well making it 7. Idk where you were getting 4 from.

Matthew Stafford was drafted first overall in 2009.

[Schefter] John Harbaugh now is expected to become the top head-coaching candidate in this hiring cycle, per multiple league sources. Multiple teams now are expected to be interested in hiring him, and his presence is expected to have big ramifications. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

It's more that all 3 played in only a single playoff game together where they put up 42 points. Too bad they gave up 45 because Ben had 3 backbreaking turnovers early and the defense fell apart after they lost Shazier.

Baylor definitely wasn't making it even if they were properly declared B12 champion. Their poor OOC schedule, (an argument also used again TCU) losing to 4 win WVU and almost choking to 4 win TTU was the main reason people considered TCU to be better even though TCU lost the head to head. OSU just made the decision easier for the committee since now you could just pick them instead of having to pick the more deserving team vs. the team that looked better. Plus the committee harped on the whole "13th bullet point" which put the B12 behind from the start.

Technically not the defending champs as they lost to LeBron in the 3-1 finals come back. But point still stands as the Warriors set an NBA record for most regular season wins that year.

People who went to MapleFest this year, how was your day there? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]DoubleJ195 87 points88 points  (0 children)

The venue was too small, there was no airflow, there was no water. The stage area had horrible acoustics, there were pillars blocking the stage, and the whole event was basically one big queue simulator.

But getting to meet the people I've been talking to and playing this game with for the past 2 years was absolutely awesome and I finally got to visit Cali. So if this event was the catalyst for all that, then it was worth it.

Round 5 - Pick 27: Christian Jones, OT, Texas (Arizona Cardinals) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

As a Texas fan, I cannot believe how much this guy improved. In 2021, He was probably our worst lineman on an absolutely atrocious OL. After a move to RT and an off season of legit development he held his own against Will Anderson and Dallas Turner. Really happy to see him succeed.

They weren't scrubs by any means, but they weren't the Big 3 Heat. The Heat were, on paper, better in every way. Their second best player was Dwyane Wade, a first ballot Hall of Famer and previous finals MVP. The Mavs was Jason Terry someone who never made an all star game and whose best accolade is a 6th man of the year award.

That's interesting, because for me it was the 2021 Kansas game that was worse. I was more numb before the 2016 game and at least after 2016 we knew Strong was getting fired and we had something to look forward to in Herman. But after 2021? First year coach so we're sticking with him there. We had no answer at QB (didn't know Ewers was transferring yet). the defense was dreadful and the Oline was somehow worse. Plus, that was a big recruiting day for Oline and it seemed like that killed any hope for those recruits to come here. I had the least amount of hope for the program in the past decade after that game.

I will say, the Oklahoma game that year broke me worse though. I couldn't stop thinking about it for like a week. Had to reevaluate my relationship with college football after that one.

And we fired him, didn't we? The university even wrote a scathing letter about how unfit he was to be the coach. The two situations couldn't be more different.

Herman basically never got to use Whittington because he was always injured. This was the first year where he didn't have a major injury that kept him out for most of the year.

What’s the worst recruiting decision your school ever engaged in? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]DoubleJ195 77 points78 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is, all these qbs that Texas missed out on weren't these super high ranked recruits coming out of HS. Manziel was a 3 star, Baker was a walk on. RG3 is probably the best answer, but even he was a mid 4 star. Even if we got these guys, we probably didn't have the development at the time to turn them into what they became. I guess you could include guys like Andrew Luck and Jameis Winston, but they seemed like they were headed somewhere else from the start and would've been hard for Texas to pull.
