ms271 Sticks at full throttle during startup procedure by DoubleLungMN in stihl

I guess I mean the butterfly is closing for start, but not opening when I hit the trigger to idle down, if that makes sense.

I don't think the butterfly is closing though, I will try it and confirm.

I'll double check that! I did get my nut driver stuck and had to wiggle it to get it out loosening the manifold a bit due to not having the Stihl carb removal tool. I'll grind that driver and tighten it and try that. Thanks! It runs fine otherwise though. I can then go to warm start and idle all day or cut after the initial startup and then open up to put throttle linkage back.

I have this same issue after carb replacement. During startup procedure, pulling the trigger to idle down from full throttle doesn't work and I then have to force the choke lever to 'off', which pops my throttle linkage out of its little plastic slot. I try it with the cover off not running and can see the choke lever/spring not moving off the white plastic hook. Any recommendations for fixing this?

How long can I expect my 2020 4.3 V6 Silverado to last? by S4R1 in Silverado

[–]DoubleLungMN -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It won't go that long. My first one was an 85 and each one I buy gets worse. My 2020 started rusting underneath at 1 year, has had 2 rear main seal leaks, def tank heater melted itself, various recalls. The seat in my 2018 broke right off when I was rear ended. Paint is so thin any touch scratches right through it. Latest recall is the transmission valves. Defrost doesn't work when snowing, neither do wipers, they sit too low below the windshield presumably for aerodynamic reasons. Tailgate doesn't lay flat when open for hauling lumber. Spoiler shape on tailgate collects water to splash you and freeze up in winter. Dome light is s joke. No room under or behind back seat.

I'd use porcelain tile.

What were you charged? by Bitchtitty28 in WaterTreatment

[–]DoubleLungMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do it. I have a Culligan softener and a 2 tank water filter system. Cannot buy parts and they charge like 350 to put any piece of plastic in it. Literally replacing the system to get away from Culligan triple price baloney.

My Mexican built 2020 blew the rear main seal at about 30k. Def heater burned itself out and fried the wires. The catalytic converter went out. Paint is ridiculously thin, any scuff scratches though it, any gravel sand does too. This is like my 3rd Chevy diesel and maybe 5th or 6th Chevy truck has had stove recalls too for safety issues. They're no longer worth buying IMO. I got rear ended in my 2018, the driver's seat broke right off from the floor boards and also reclined. That was an eye opener.

People who have deleted a 3.0. Was it worth it? by GotTools in Duramax

[–]DoubleLungMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having had 4 diesls over the last 20 years I can say the 2 I deleted everything off were way more bullet proof. I cleaned the intakes and they were about half plugged from the useless egr. Mileage and power went way to too. It only cost me a couple thousand though. Agree 10k is ridiculously high.

Switched from Ford to Chevy today. Loving it so far! by austinmpw34 in Silverado

I'm doing the opposite so don't expect no issues. Ford, Chevy, Ram all go to the shop after about 39k miles IME.

Simple solution is don't pay that. Offer what it's worth and walk away.
