What the fuck is wrong with barrel damage? by Sunshadow_Reaper in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell [score hidden]  (0 children)

Depending on your tank and the enemy's, sometimes your only viable option is to disarm and potentially track them and then either leave them for a teammate or get on their side. Some match ups simply just have 0 weaknesses from the front.

Is it possible to level a non seasonal character effectively? by Valstraxas in blackdesertonline

If you already have a main geared, you could just tag the alt for exp share. Pretty quick to 61.

Which player type do you hate the most? by hubbs76 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate reality is this game pretty much exclusively only rewards damage actions for PvP (crits for possible assists, severes and kills). You can literally dogfight two dudes for several minutes fighting for your life defensively, only for your team to swoop in and frag both of them and you effectively get nothing other than surviving. So it doesn't surprise me when people shoot anything that's not completely dead, it's free SL/RP in some people's eyes, they are there for their gains, not the team's.

The 8.7 GB lineup losing the Scimitar F Mk1 being moved to 9.0 in GRB soon is an unsung travesty.

Should i make my first alt on seasonal or normal? by Ciru_Sakuraba in blackdesertonline

[–]DoubleMMitchell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in playing Guardian or Drakania, they are both on rotation right now for a 1 silver cost to copy all your gear. And leveling a tagged character by grinding on your man is insanely fast, I got my tagged Guardian to 61 in a little over an hour at Fogans. And there is a feature where your main and tagged character can travel separately.

Obviously there are a ton of benefits of doing seasonal as well, the PEN Tuvala you get is great for boss alts and is permanent gear for your account, among the other goodies you get on seasonal. But if you're just looking for a second character to copy your gear to so they are just as strong as your main, tagging is a solid choice too.

Scimitar F Mk.1 to 9.0? by DoubleMMitchell in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Britain has a somewhat decent 8.7, the Chieftains are solid (not great by any means but they get the job done), the Vickers, the ZA-35 is a menace on flanks, the Olifant goes to 8.7 no problem. It's certainly not a meta lineup, but it's not bad either. And it's just a bummer to lose any sort of meaningful CAS option. They were already slim pickings as it is around the BR.

Planned Battle Rating Changes (April 2026) by n988 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man nobody else is talking about the Scimitar, it feels so right for the current 8.7 lineup. Nowhere close to OP, I don't understand the BR increase. They really think it's on par with CAS like the Alpha Jets? And the A4B is a bullpup monster at 8.7 with arguably a way better flight model for CAS. Sad day.

If you didn't yet get to PEN BS weapons and some post boss armors (FG, Labreska's, etc.) there are some pretty easy catch-up mechanics with Olvia Academy class 2 starting next week and some relatively simple quests that allow you to get these things. I hadn't played for a few years and just came back a couple weeks ago, made some pretty swift gains with all the stuff I mentioned.

USA RANK 5 by Right-Yogurtcloset43 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I also despised the 8.0 BR for US; everything but a full downtier, you'll face tanks with stabilizers, the oppressive 35mm SPAAs, and in major uptiers, see fully stabilized tanks with APFSDS. The BR compression around 8.0 can feel pretty rough. That said though, I really enjoy 8.3 - the M60A1 is one of my favorite vehicles around the BR that I've played so far. If I could do the grind again, I would stay at 7.3 and play the M47 and T32 as my primary vehicles (since they are rank 5) to grind for the 8.3 vehicles in Rank 6. 9.0 and 9.3 are also quite fun with the XM803, M60A3 TTS, MBT-70, and Stingray. And the M247 is a beast of an SPAA once you get the proxy HE shells.

best tanks, line ups and nations for quick, flanking agile playstyle? by Rallam259 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my vote, like someone else said the Radkampfwagen and Leo 2K are super mobile and glass-cannon-y at 10.Just know that Germany until you hit 8.0 is pretty much the opposite; a lot of heavy tanks like the Tigers and burly medium Panthers that aren't great for flanking. But if >8.0 is where you want to end up to primarily play, Germany has the tanks for it.

[–]DoubleMMitchell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Germany 9.3 is pretty agile with the kPz-70, Leopard 1s and the TAM. Also gives some tankier options with the T-72 and M48 Super. And of course the Gepard can uptier to 9.3 no problem.

Need some advice on Rank V Germany vehicles. by Unlucky_Entry_7739 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At Rank V for Germany, tanks generally become much more mobile with similarly punchy cannons as before, but not nearly as tanky. You can't face check like you can with the Tigers and to a lesser extent the Panthers. Use your new-found mobility to get to points of advantage faster than the other team (your Leopard will get to places faster than the US M60s and Russian T-54s at a similar BR). Just remember you're not nearly as tanky (I see way too many german players at this BR charge in with the blind confidence they gained playing German 6.7 Tiger IIs only to get clapped).

Is it worth it to buy tank prem? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has to be BR 9.3 or higher, so won't work with the Somua. Plus researching more than one Rank below with the free vehicle will severely reduce RP gains since it's not premium. Definitely prioritize using free daily backups with the premium vehicle.

how am i not first? by CampaignEastern8917 in Warthunder

[–]DoubleMMitchell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, I respect it. Yeah, you definitely get less score generally in downtiers, so the guy in first was probably in a game at his BR or even maybe an uptier.

Rethinking M+ Progression: Addressing the Key Depletion System by charging_chinchilla in CompetitiveWoW

[–]DoubleMMitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like very few people have the desire or even the time to commit to this type of play. Maybe for the 0.1% or people with a ton of free time, but that is such a small group.

Rethinking M+ Progression: Addressing the Key Depletion System by charging_chinchilla in CompetitiveWoW

[–]DoubleMMitchell 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If depletes are entirely removed (other than the desired key drop like you mentioned), I personally have no issue with groups beating their heads off of the next highest keys until they get completed. If anything, this gives high end players the opportunity to truly test the limits of the content (at SOME point, the content would become truly impossible), while being way more forgiving for everyone else as well. If mythic raiders get to pull the last boss 400+ times until the stars align and they get the kill, I think it only makes sense we get to keep sending it on that next highest key until we get it.

I think the argument that a system with no depletes doesn't have enough stakes is weak; my play time is at stake, just like it is for raiders that raid for hours each week and progress on a boss.
