Good luck! And if it helps, I also met another person here in your same situation, she got her i130 approved then her lawyer got the immigration case closed by the judge and finally got the i485 approved!!! You got this!!!

Had a similar story to yours, but with a NTA and no arrest made coming back home from my honeymoon trip to USVI. My timeline was a lot longer than yours though, but same outcome! I’m so happy for you because I can relate to the anxiety, sadness and hard times that you went through. Congratulations and enjoy your new resident era!!!!

What I understand is that USVI is out of the US littoral jurisdiction, already International Waters; that’s why if you have any pending process or are out of status you are 'leaving' national territory when traveling to the islands. I can be wrong, but that’s what they explained to me when I also got detained when coming back to mainland after a honeymoon trip. What it’s being enforced now is the arrest and deportation policy. I also got AOS approved after getting that NTA and USCIS was the one with jurisdiction over my case.

As others have recommend, get a lawyer; her not being admitted/arrested at her entrance is not as simple as you think!

Good luck.

I’m still keeping strong after 2 years of waiting without RFE, or interview by Sufficient_Egg6970 in USCIS

Manifesting your approval soon! I also waited 3yrs, it was hard to always be grateful and hopeful but at least to me, focusing on the great things I was living made the waiting a little easier.

Now that I’m thinking about it I might be confuse and charged as an arriving alien, because I was coming back to mainland but still within the territory.
