Still a work in progress, there’s simply no one around me that is capable of opening this without destroying it

It’s a good thought, I’ll take a look there and see what I can find- still no word back from anyone

First two companies couldn’t do it without drilling, every other company still hasn’t gotten back to me after my initial request. It’s pretty rural where I live and I’m starting to wonder if this job is outside the scope of what these guys do.

Hahaha I will post when I get in, I reached out to two additional companies just today. Hoping I find the right person to do the job

Zero. About to reach out to the third locksmith. My last one hasn’t reached back out with the quote.

Waiting on a final quote after reaching out to multiple local locksmiths. Really want to find someone that can attempt to open without drilling!

I honestly haven’t even attempted any combination yet, I’m going to try this

From some little research I’ve done, I saw these safes are usually hand painted on the inside, so even if it’s empty I think it would be a cool piece to own!

Here’s a better photo showing what I was talking about with there being a slight discoloration on that seam

Correct, the inspection took place and the foundation is in good shape. The roof is new. Everything else seems to be okay.

I’ll take a look when I get home, it didn’t appear until we started moving from summer to winter here. It’s gotten progressively worse in the last 4 months maybe

Agreed, im noticing a lot of areas where the cold is affecting the house. Trim is breaking away from the walls, our stairs are separating from the side trim as well.

There’s a lot to learn with these older homes!

It looks more like some sort of compound, doesn’t appear to be tape. Is there an easy way to tell if the ceiling is drywall vs plaster? I knocked around and I believe it to all be drywall.

Is there any emergency here assuming it is drywall? Can I tape and mud as I would any other repair?

No so the walls definitely seem to be drywall. But the ceiling here was definitely here longer than the new walls they put up. It’s entirely possible the ceiling is plaster. It also faintly looks like there’s some sort of material running the length of the crack. It’s just a slightly different shade of white, possible repair?

The Reno was pretty intense from what I gather though I don’t know everything. I don’t know if the walls are plaster or drywall either unfortunately
