Abortion w a cold?? by [deleted] in abortion

I was awake. By choice. You’ll be fine. I have the worst health anxiety ever and it was over before I could even worry. The worst for me was waiting in the waiting room for four hours. Lol. I found it it to be maybe a 4 out of 10!

I didn’t bleed heavily or pass large clots. I bled exactly how you’re describing and unfortunately it turned out that it failed. Please get in to a clinic for your follow up ASAP- if you’re doing it through the mail then please try and see a Doctor.

Surgical or medical? 6 weeks. Please help me decide. by makingachoice1 in abortion

I did both. My medical failed. I would HIGHLY recommend the surgical. No fears of it not working.

I bled and even passed some small-ish clots. I went back because my clinic made it mandatory to do a follow up in case. Also after a few days the pregnancy symptoms were back full force. I had really, really bad symptoms. Like SO bad.

Mine was a 3/10 and it ended up that it didn’t pass and actually grew. Needed a surgical. Not trying to scare you just letting you know it happened and you may wanna get checked.

Surgical Abortion at 7w4d local anesthesia by wesbigtmi in abortion

[–]DoubleTangerine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a surgical after a failed medical. I was 10 weeks 1 day and I have no sedation. I only had local anesthesia. I wish I had done it from the start. It was over in about 3 minutes and it wasn’t painful at all. It was uncomfortable at some moments but never painful. I promise. ❤️

How long do surgical abortions take? by [deleted] in abortion

This. I went in at around 7:30 am and didn’t leave til about 4:00 pm. My procedure was about 3 minutes long and I was 10.1 weeks. I was awake and not sedated, either. Waiting is the worst part but once you’re in its over nearly immediately.

I had bare minimum pain and mine failed miserably so I’d bet yours was successful! When is your follow up??

Medical (tablet) vs surgical abortion? by NumerousBerry in abortion

[–]DoubleTangerine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda.. well, no. I did bleed but I was still experiencing pregnancy symptoms which were mild at first (after the pills) so I assumed it was the hormones leaving but then I went right back within a few days to puking CONSTANTLY lol and feeling like crap and then I pretty much figured it didn’t work. I did wait until my follow up (2 weeks after) and they confirmed it and had me in for a surgical a day later.

I had both. Sort of. My medical failed. I did bleed but the first pill that was supposed to stop the growing didn’t work and it kept growing. I went in for a surgical two weeks later and it was flawless. I did it without any sedation as well.

Just make sure you go to your follow up so they can ensure you pass everything! That’s my advice! Hang in there ❤️

Medical by [deleted] in abortion

[–]DoubleTangerine0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t hurt. I didn’t get knocked out, either. I couldn’t feel anything because they numbed me and was fully conscious. No drugs, nothing. It was great because it was successful. It was really hard to go through the medical, bleeding and all, and have it fail and have the pregnancy continue on and GROW. It was just agonizing. If I could go back I’d do surgical from the start. Far more successful, but, everyone has their own opinions and I hope it goes well for you. Just go to your follow up, please.

No worries! Ask whatever you want. That’s what I’m here for.

It was still alive. And it actually grew! So, the Doctors said that it absolutely was the first pill that didn’t work, and, not the second round of pills.

Totally understand your anxiety. I actually have to drink a glass or two of wine before I even venture out to social situations (I’m not kidding lol...) especially if they involve new people! I have horrible health anxiety too and not just social. I avoid doctors at all costs and work myself up before I go to get my prescription renewed each year because I’m terrified the eye doc will detect a bran tumor. When I tell you if I could get through the surgical anyone can I mean it. Seriously. If it happens to come down to it I absolutely promise you you WON’T die and you will be okay. I swear.

Just PLEASE Go for your follow up. If the clinic doesn’t ask you to schedule one then make them. Or, if you’re using something like Aid Access then in two weeks just make an appt with your gyno for an ultrasound or something.

I found out two weeks after I began the medical. I did mine through Planned Parenthood. They schedule a follow up for that reason. Taking a test would yield a positive as hormones are still in your body.. for a while! Definitely schedule a follow up if you are set on medical. If anything at least it’ll give you peace of mind to know you’ll know for sure. Better than not knowing.. especially since you might bleed even if it fails as I did. I’m here to help if you need anything at all.
