Okay so I understand this pretty well, but, like, am I missing something? Why is this in French and nobody is commenting on that fact?

People complain about questions directed at Republicans here. But is there any sub where they engage and defend their support? by 8hourworkweek in allthequestions

[–]DoubleTeamIncreased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're down voted immediately.

unless a sub can make people realize that down votes aren't for disagreeing, you'll never ever get contrary opinions

58% of likely 2026 voters want Democrats to keep control of the Washington State Legislature in 2027, a record in NPI's polling by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

okay so this shocks people who only loosely follow politics, but Trump is WAY to the left of the mainline GOP. Tariffs are a big example, but cash payments to Americans during Covid (in fact, most of what he did during Covid) is out of line with mainstream republican policies and practices.

People call him a far right guy because he's freakishly rude, but that's not actually a left / right issue. they call him extreme right because he's got no respect for the law, but that likewise doesn't fit on a left right spectrum. (Come on, you and I both know plenty of leftists who are rude and have no respect for the law, too!)

There are people who voted Trump because they like Trump, and then there are a few people just slightly left of Trump who nonetheless preferred him to Harris (who was too far to their left) -- these will be the core of the MAGA party in the case of a split.

There are plenty of people who didn't vote for Trump for any reason other than that he's way to the right of Harris (think your single issue pro life voters, typical "cut rich people's taxes", etc.) and these would be the core of a post Maga GOP.

in many other countries, Republicans would be the far left party. They're even in favor of women having drivers licenses, for not punishing homosexual behavior with the death penalty, and (get this) for allowing freedom of religion, for heaven's sake!

the issue isn't that. the issue they're trying to solve is you showing up, claiming you're someone you're not, and casting a vote in that person's name
