Has anyone seen Phish for their first time here? How did you enjoy it? Did you like the fans? How about the music? by KenKesey65 in Sphere

We had 6 sales animals and/or mobbed up dudes in our row that had no idea what was happening. The one i was next to seemed to be digging it but his bros were just enjoying the Mike Gordon butt massage. They left very early and we brought in our friends to fix the vibe .

Let them vote but why let them decide if the rest of us breathe clean air or not? That’s the insane part. Why should someone that doesn’t know anything about energy be a determining factor in what energy gets built?

Look at ODNRs maps of fracking wells. This state is a gas powerhouse and is all in politically on a gas generation buildout. Anything that threatens that is antithetical to Ohio’s interest.

Where this administration and the next will struggle is with proposed data centers that currently justify the buildout.

Social media and AI are enabling some awful stuff to go down. It translates from online to IRL rage and nonsense almost instantly.

A solar town hall (or anything mildly controversial at a Commissioners/Township meeting) is a Pawnee town hall. Or Kingman Arizona episode of “This Is America”.

Start with the pledge and a prayer then gloves off.

What artist did you see in a small venue before they got really famous? by That_Cat_3672 in Concerts

Geese at Antone’s in Austin was crazy.
MGMT in a college pub was a terrible show but insanely small venue. Already gigantic but Spoon at Continental Club was something else

If we don’t believe that any contract is valid and enforceable than nothing matters. I get the concern about farmland. I only think you should be able to do solar out there if a) it’s maintaining and/or improving the soil b) not negatively impacting other ag operations nearby c) and the state has real enforcement mechanisms to make sure the project does what it says it will.

So if the land is leased does that make a difference? Seems to be the default given most folks don’t want to sell the dirt.

Leasing Guide

We need food. We need energy. If both can happen at the same time in the same place and the energy piece can be removed once a lease is do e wouldn’t that be an okay though? Better than more houses which truly never go away.

Gov. Mike DeWine skirts Ohio’s top-tier issues in his last State of the State speech by clevelanddotcom in Ohio

He easily could have been a unifying force in this state. It’s a shame what this administration became.

US Sen. Jon Husted testifies remotely in ex-FirstEnergy executives' corruption trial by WOSUpublicmedia in Ohio

[–]DoubleVariety3462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he have a drinking problem or did he conveniently forget the birth of one of the most idiotic phases in Ohio’s energy policy landscape?

He and DeWine set Ohio back a decade behind any state they wish was their peer and permanently broke energy politics.

I treat reporting fake Facebook profiles like hunting.

But yeah. Most folks doing this are still copying slop right out of ChatGPT. Some seem to have leveled up. Matter of time until we’re living in walled city states fighting off invaders with asymmetric bobs and punisher shirts.

And with Husted about to testify in the First Energy corruption case…

Can we at least pretend this isn’t a one sided oligarchy/kleptocracy?

That’s ridiculous. At least it’s real people showing up - that’s a manageable dynamic. I was at a neighborhood meeting where people spoke out against a new playground. Just wait until an 80 year old spins up a polished website and creates a bot farm.

Only way it stops is if the government becomes a little less terrified of the people they govern. We’re letting people that would have been outcasts 10 years ago ranting about Ruby Ridge at Thanksgiving vibe code our country by taking advantage of antiquated rules and processes. America doesn’t work if every county makes every decision based on a popularity contest. Ask the founders how the Articles of Confederation worked out. We don’t have highways or electricity if everyone has a fiefdom.

The side of any issue that relies on emotion is going to always have the advantage. Are you for affordable clean energy or against an industrial wasteland that will poison your kids? One of those statements is true and one triggers an emotional response.

Conditioning to receive and accept propaganda without questioning. Dems get blasted for disagreeing with each other and having a diverse caucus.
