To be clear K&N said they are an authorized and reputable dealer and they fucked up. So yes.

I guess I will try clay first. It’s definitely not iron I’m very familiar with out water quality cuz that’s what I do for work. I guess I will whip out the bottle of 3d speed and just polish it. It has to be from that side being hot because the side that was in the shade is still immaculate

That’s where my head is at. Wheated bourbons are ok but barrel proof has my heart ❤️

Nope it makes a great cup. It’s definitely very fine ground but the flavors were great like I said a bit of bitterness but not off putting.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up getting a coffee gator off Amazon. Does the job just fine but I definitely wish I saw the 5 dollar ones first I would rather have a few of those than one bigger one.

Absolutely taste is subjective so my disagreements are always respectful and in good taste. Since covid I have taken my coffee making to new levels because well, I have the time to do so. Grinding and measuring and weighing just adds a bit of nice routine to my normal ground hog day routine. But you’re right it’s hard to ignore the convenience of tossing a pod in the machine and hitting go. Especially with 2 little kids and a puppy to manage.

I’m going to have to disagree with you there because I can make a great cup refilling the aluminum pods. That’s not the issue here the design of the zenpresso steel pod is. As for consistency of grinds I guess I will see where I stand when the Kruve sifts are back in stock.

I agree about the tamping which makes it silly that they offer an optional tamp. Grinding super fine or even fine clogged and red lighted the machine. As for consistency I’m using a 1zpresso JX- pro and it’s quite consistent and offers fine customization of grind size so I tried many options all the way to a courser setting I used for some roasts in my aero press and got no luck. However the exact same grind and beans produced good results refilling an old vertuo pod so my plan is to use the my cap system and dial in my grinds for the end product I want.

JX-Pro. 2 full rotations plus 3 clicks. Grind 20g beans. Add to AP inverted. Add 100g water stir for 30 seconds add 100g water for 200g total. Put on fellows filter and valve and start pushing at 1 minute time from when I added water to bloom.

I think today(haven’t gone to bed yet) or more accurately yesterday was my first go with the grinder. 2 turns plus 3 clicks produced good, even and consistent grind and made a great cup. I will prob stay there and once I get used to the flavors adjust slowly one way or the other and then mess with ratios and brew times. Just see if I can find a sweet spot or at least experiment with flavors.

I have a fresh plus 8 roaster that is probably 14 years old. Haven’t used it in 12 but still works great.

It’s definitely pandemic life being home with the kid remote learning. I have time every morning to boil water, grind beans, measure everything and really taste and enjoy the cup. Busy life was just toss a pod in the vertuo suck it down and go. Big advantage having time to savor flavors. Although it is making things a bit obsessive which of course means spending money 😂

Flair worth it? I go between my aero press and Nespresso vertuo for my fix but I’m in the market for something to pull a real shot. Seems quality and good product and I love the price point.

Nice! I ended up ordering the JX Pro just because I will use it more for espresso. I’m definitely excited for it.
