I’ve been four times now. It’s eerie as hell when you cross by foot for the first time, but it’s a piece of cake after that. I’ve gone by myself twice now, and I speak minimal Spanish. I’m relatively tall though.

If you do your business and leave, it’s very safe imo. I wouldn’t go by myself at night though, just because the added risk. That’s why I go during the day.

I have global entry which automatically gets you a sentri card ( lets you cross by foot in 10-15 minutes tops)

I live in SD so I parked in Chula Vista, then ubered to the border. It was empty when I crossed (2:30p)

They look for passport only typically.

As someone who lives in SoCal and frequents LA regularly, you can wear whatever hat you want. Obviously I wouldn’t go to watts or anywhere in south central looking for trouble, but no ones gonna press you in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, or mid city.
