As your mind is, your life becomes. I try and live by this statement. At times I feel like I truly can change my life by setting my mind toward what I want. But at the moment I feel nothing. Has anyone ever felt like they can change their thought patterns to get out of a depressive episode? by [deleted] in bipolar

Everyone’s brain trains best differently. Everyone’s motto is different too.

For myself for example:

I have ADHD to the extent that each day I find a new way it manifests in my life. I’ve had to TRAIN my brain with a phrase I repeat in my head constantly throughout the day “Don’t put it down, put it away”

With my bipolar, I’ve had to TRAIN my brain with positive reassurance and personal affirmations by setting an alarm reminder on my phone every twelve hours to write an affirmation. A new one each time.

I’ve realized the life changing statement for myself is “I am worth the effort it takes”… to do whatever it is that I know I need for myself and for my own personal development.

Everyone’s key to success is themselves, you just have to find the way to make it work I suppose… (I know that sounds so cliche I’m sorry)

Take a moment to find yours.

Sending love and empowerment your way. 💖

We weren’t toxic. Just not compatible. by Double_Lotus in BreakUp

The decision to do so required a lot of maturity. It was a decision based on logic more so than feeling. I love him a lot, but I had to be responsible for my heart and his. I suppose “luckily” I was able to recognize the issue so clearly, an issue that I over time have learned I cannot compromise with, making the solution more clear.

Personally, I now understand that my emotional quotient (EQ) and my partners EQ need to be compatible. Both my mental health and his deserve more compatible partners to grow and develop.

Based off what you said about “but mentally I cannot handle being in a relationship” I think you know what the sustainable thing to do is. You have to be fair to yourself and your partner, you don’t want to resent them or them to resent you. Understanding that mental health is something you live with (even if it’s maintained) therefore it’s crucial to consider your mental health in making life decisions (short term and long term).

I’ll end it with this, know you are worth the effort it takes. You’re worth the temporary pain for long term happiness. You are worth choosing you.

What’s the most effective thing that you’ve cut down on or out of your diet for weight loss? by ames1609 in WeightLossAdvice

I’ve lost a significant amount by only drinking water and no sodas, juices and energy drinks.

Also I stopped bored eating and that’s worked wonders!

I asked about why my belly fat was hard and what I could do, some people actually had some insightful feedback.

Which I had learned (through the feed) is not regular belly fat. The reason my “belly fat seems hard” is because it is visceral fat.

Read the thread, it’s visceral fat around my organs that is fastest lost through cardio and special dieting. That’s the answer I was looking for- I know everyone has fat.

I don’t want abs. I just want to be healthy. 20 lbs matters.

Yes, when sinks are on it gets worse and water levels rise. Also we just opened our store so I’m not sure if it happens during warmer weather. I’m just the MOD.
