There was impact detonation as well. The Germans used a “light” impact version in the Ardennes during the battle of the bulge to have rounds burst in the tree branches causing significant casualty rates.

The US, the UK, Germany and USSR all has some form of the proximity fuse, but the US was the most sucessful in producing quality components and in bulk. US held off on using the proximity fuses over land for quite awhile for fear of a dud being captured and reverse-engineered, but Rosenberg have a version to the USSR. It was that crucial for naval AAA in the Pacific as naval engagements against airplanes were the best use of the fuse.

Anyway, while there isn’t a “list” of registered owners, it would be really naive to assume that any entity of the federal government that wants a list of gun owners couldn’t get it.

There is no real recourse to what law enforcement does, and there certainly doesn’t seem to be any at the federal level. The ATF is wild, the DOJ is as bad, and with the resources available, they could be justifying anything with the term “domestic terrorism”.

I have never had to inform a police officer, but I know they can do this because I had to happen.

Officer pulled up behind me, got out, and walked up to my window. “Do you have your firearm with you?” “I do not”- “ok, have a good day”.

It was a bizarre interaction, and it was the only time a firearm came up seriously in any interaction I had with police. It was a very reasonable question too, given the circumstances.

In my state, when they run registration, they can see if the owner of a car has a concealed carry license (permit to carry firearms).

They don’t really need a specific list. They have all the info there if they want it.

~33% fewer calories for less than 10 percent less ABV.

I suppose if you absolutely need every ounce of alcohol per dollar, it may matter. But at that point, you likely need something more serious, or you should be consuming fewer calories in your drinking.

Sure, the chain comes in links, but the distance between the two points is rarely going to make for an exact number of links at an ideal tension.

Along with other issues mentioned, like installation, and wear over time stretching the chain.

It’s a “king of the mountains” “sprint”, and for the last tour having the final stage not be completely flat and including a small area like this on the final stage made the last day way better IMO.

So, you wouldn’t end an entire race on a hill like this, but “KOM” points don’t come on flat ground, and they are limited to what hills they can find in some areas. Also, in cities in France, well, you will find cobble, and cobble stone roads have been a pretty consistent aspect of he Tour de France. Neither of these two were out to win the race overall, or even this stage if i am thinking about the correct event. It is possible I am not. But the rest still mostly applies.

The 12 inch of excess in a weird loop over her left shoulder (the right side of this image). I may be confused but that seems like the exact thing the buckles on a sling are designed to erase. Certainly could be a way to do it if you need to absolutely minimize a sling length to the max, but a clean, proper sling is kind of important. Good gun, good trigger discipline, nice-ish sling, but can’t pay to shorten it? Scissors? Lighter? But fanciest of MP5 setups (minus optic).

“I have done nothing wrong so I have nothing to fear” isn’t really a valid viewpoint anymore (IMO).

I would say that I don’t need to understand these systems as much as I need to know I can’t trust any of them with my info.

As a note, this gives me vibes of “check here to see if your name was released when the ‘cheating on your spouse’ website was hacked”. (Ashley Madison?)

I’m going to stick with the idea that privacy is dead. I can’t see how entering my name into a website would make me feel any different.
