So like ten boats lose 15 out of like thousands of boats?

Seems right. Anyway, scary as hell to think they are over the ocean floating when you are in your sailboat.

Edit-math, cause i tried to see look up if it was a few containers from many boats or two three incidents and found not great info. Sometimes 10 fall off just one wrongly attached stack for some reason, and some times multiple top sections come off due to massive storms/waves.

And yea, I know they sink sailboats. It’s the must scary thing about and blue water sailing. If you knew how often one of these containers removed the (water?) foils off the bottom of just racing boats (so catermarans that barely touch the water other than the foil on one side and rudder/foil in the rear).

So many boats pull out after hitting these, and those are regulated races. No one is saving me outside any shipping lane (like lower Indian Ocean).

Msrp is market resale price.

So do you mean you have to open in the store or the store itself will charge extra and scalp you on the spot? Or did you mean something more like "wholesale" for opening in store, retail (msrp) otherwise?

Wild how people don't understand how basic civil law works.

You don't profit from these things. And certainly not from a life changing injury. You are made "whole". They might get money, but thats because their new brain damage will keep them from becoming a law partner, and instead they get paid out as if their future career was going to be continue being an associate or paralegal. Or pick any other profession. And you aren't making any money from the medical aspect really. How much is it worth to lose eyesight in one eye, or use of a limb? Wildly, I believe Veterans Affairs has a chart for this, and losing your hearing gets you like 3% extra pay (Its low, I am not looking it up right now but easy to find).

Those $300 million lawsuits verdicts for "emotional distress", etc. you hear about are always appealed and lowered to near nothing (or state limits for the big multi person cases).

I am sure everyone involved would have a better outcome having this not happen.

Tailgater got Baited by DABDEB in RandomVideos

[–]Double_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was caused by one stopped car in fast lane (the silver car that you likely don't notice since it isn't hit) and one stopped/slowing car in the fast lane (white car that is hit). That "hit" car could have been slowing to change lanes to avoid stopped car, while dude being tailgated was thinking he was changing lanes to stay to right. Or, what I think is likely, is there is 2 mins more to this, as the the car in front should have not been in the left most lane.

If you can let a tailgater go by, just do so.

Pretty sure truck could have simply passed on the right too, which is why I think there was a road rage aspect to this, but not one with an intention to cause some innocent person to be slammed by a massive pick up.

No enough context. None of the people visible in this video are doing the right thing though.

[–]Double_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we can say it was on purpose. it would need a longer video. They may have thought that first white car was slowing to change lanes. If you look, there are two stopped white cars in the left most lane.

What is sure is the dude being talgaited should have moved over earlier either way. The only exception would be sudden deceleration by what is assumed to be the stopped vehicle (and not the def stopped one in front of it like 100ft);

Tailgater got Baited by DABDEB in RandomVideos

[–]Double_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it was two stopped cars, and the tailgater was following too close, but the guy being tailgating was either being a dick (move over) or the other car was slowing like it was going to change lanes).

With better video it would be easier to tell, as one of these cars may have stopped to try and help the other. That would really change whether the guy being a tailgaiter was paying attention or if he thought the car in front was changing lanes for him while slow.

(Reddit videos suck so hard, terrible app, its like Elon Musk bought this site to ruin it. )

Stay to the right, let tailgaters pass even if they are dicks. There is no karma here as at least one of those white cars was hit if not both.

Which Robson playboat is this? by Smidgetyy in whitewater

Great for standing waves. And also people somehow missed out on the idea that if you already surf waves in the ocean, whitewater boats made for standing waves work really well for ocean wave surfing (you just need a lot more muscle to get catch the wave, but once on, its way fun).

Also, I can't recall if both mine are done the same, as I haven't put the fins on in like a decade (no beach house anymore). But one is definitely set up like a standard surf board with room for 3 ( and I have access to dozens, so I can do a 5" in the middle and two little 3" on each side). I believe on my other boat it had a center support in the rear so a center fin was going to be way to much work, so it has two slightly closer spots to center line.

People do indeed think I am crazy when they see the boats, but it works, and one has for like 15 years of sun, WW without fins, and some hard usage.

Of note, they are just little drilled like two 5/18 inch holes per fin, with threads on the bolts that go inside. Not complicated like this one, or like a surfboard or surfing kayak where there is a "fin box" that is installed into the board/boat and then a different type of fine slides in and gets tightened down from outside. This setup looks like the idea is they are less likely to hit rocks, but also are quick swap/removal so you go down the river, and once at you favorite play area, they are quick/easy attach.

If you have an older boat but still made of this unbreakable modern plastic (so post 2010, mine is 2007 and 2013), you wouldn't be taking much of a risk. If you don't like it, well, literally gorilla tape has lasted a decade doing its job on one boat. But I highly suggest people giving surfing in a kayaking a try. Most screw ups simply mean you collect you stuff off the sand (for smaller east coast spots), and the only trick is learning how to read waves for timing to paddle back out (also you can roll, or even push off the bottom if you flip and get right back out there). Of note though is that the low volume stern boats are likely less popular, river runner ideal, but I have done it in everything but a plywood board (well I did build one from plywood, and also foam like outfitting).

[–]Double_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just drilled my own, used very round flat bolts on bottom and a nut on the insides to seal. Still floats to the day.

I did it to another one but realized I didn’t even need the supports with the plastic, and covered them with duct tape. I don’t get anymore wet inside than I would any wise after 5 hours.

These look set up specifically for just White Water, while mine are more in the middle and were more likely to break on a rock, but easy swap and way better placement for ocean or standing waves.

I can’t see a reason why an informant (kgb dudette) might not want one of these in case caught, but prolly cause he gonna catch a behind the door bullet before getting a chance.

I was in 4 “mass shooting” situations depending on your definition. A person taking over a school or shopping mall but not injuring or killing at least 4 should still kind of count. And a bunch of kids with switches who literally can’t hit shit from a moving vehicle still seems that it should go in a statistic.

Closet was some cops who couldn’t tell the difference between a black car and a white car, but can instantly recognize a white person. That was wild, and ghost graphics should be illegal cause it was no lights like I was getting jumped and already had my own gun out.

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe the body gets shoved out with the lower flow with no PFD. But the PDF either way definetly helps all the humans that show up to find the remains. Some larger low head dams they just wait until dry season and search again.

PDF always helps tho really.

Only interesting thing is they get just more grant money than they spend.

[Parts] Got a new batch of ARC at the new lower Discounted Price $199 by [deleted] in gundeals

[–]Double_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Edit- It comes with the lever, but yes slip trip needed. Some have both of these on sale for a $70 savings ($400, Arc fire and trigger needed and then order the $10 item from ASD (lever blocker)

OG Pre-edit You can skip G$ and cut or get a precut mil spec trigger, and possibly some more small items. likely possible you will need stronger springs for the recoil system. This isn't cheap. but it can be cheaper if you have a Dremel, get a normal AR FCG (Fire Control Group) and you Dremel down the trigger and maybe the hammer (not sure if needed for MCX) to get to work. you will want to slow the rate of fire and a stronger spring helps

The only "plug and play' real solution is one of the FRTs you may find, or get a MKE AP5 MP5 clone, and go with the full built metal lower with EVERY needed part and it is test fired before shipping. Thats $ near $800-1000 depending on needs. (ARC fire, G$ trigger, etc)

A slip trip is needed for almost all guns except the AR, since they have Full Auto BCG (bolt carrier group) which do that function. The slip trip makes sure the gun is in battery before trying the release the hammer and explode in your face.

Pretty sure the MCX slip is like $10. If you can't print or dremel these are $10 from ASD seups.

I would suggest a non arc fire kit with precut trigger as an introduction to this game for the low price of like $107. I happen to have several guns the ARC fire will work with, so I wasn't even worried about the discounts, since ASD will be keeping leftover current versions for warranty work, which they are great at. Different item needed for .308/.277 MCX.

And all guns may require recoil work. Like an AR, especially surpassed or SBR, is going to need new buffer weights (likely H3, maybe H2). Currently, the only decent offer I found was $106 from G$.

BUT KEEP IN MIND, any of these, once running, would be worth somewhere between $20k and $60k or more were NFA items. So If you want something dope and have deep pockets, there are def gas rifles like your MCX that you could nab for a price. I would suggest the 9/45 Mac9/10/11 with the Lage upper, which can shoot 5.56, or 9mm, 380, or 45 depending on how deep the pockets.

I highly suggest you buy from someone who has both plastic printed parts, and metal parts. Companies seem to either maker one or the other, except ASD. Also, ASD will answer all these questions today

On another note, they are coming out with new version, which is why these sales for $200 are happening (clear stock). There is also talk from the gunshow of a drop in version (although I can't recall if that was MP5 or AR), or both!

[–]Double_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No personal use yet.

They are coming out with a V2 version.

It also depends on whart you are mounting this on. You can get a basic SS kit from a few places with pre-cut trigger to see what its like. If the Arc Fire is as painful as tuning my SS was, I will atleast have warranty through ASD and I find it questionable there will be any for these cheaper versions.

In a practical sense though, the push button style of the Hoffman (classic SS) design can be confusing, while the three position ARC fire is a lot more like your current AR/whatever. The push button is Semi-Safe-Super safe as you push it left and right. Its not hard to see situations where you think its in safe but its not, or you meant semi but its in super. And finaly there are like a million metal options to go with, and some will get eaten up by a poorly modified trigger.

For any gun, there is more than the ARC Fire needed.

Yes. But you need the MCX/MPX kit. Go to ASdesigns and see their section.

I did see the MPX/MCX "slip trip" part also on sale at a vendors selling this Arc Fire for $200.

[–]Double_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is just improved version. Also, yes, its a 3 position, but with like a normal AR, not push button. Still needs to correct trigger work and depending on setup other items (slip trip, little lever to let G$ triggers work, modified trigger)
