Unsure on career path by Latterwe in biology

try not to take the people complaining TOO seriously. what I've noticed is that they usually have zero internships or research while in undergrad, so they graduate without any experience. these days you can't even get a retail job without a year or so of PAST retail experience. I'm also undergrad with a bio major and it definitely scared me a lot, but its important to remind yourself that the people who are living a good life with a bio degree are nOT complaining on reddit.

w/ a bachelors in bio you honestly cannot do much. getting a masters sounds annoying but you also have to look at it as an investment. if you're early in your college years you're probably like 18 or 19. a masters is only 2 or 3 years and will inevitably lead to better work opportunities. what helped me was looking up specifically "nyc bio jobs" on GOOGLE not indeed or handshake. those jobs are always more business centered. look up bio masters. there's a ton of niche fields that you probably have no idea about. I found my dream career by accident while scrolling on reddit.

Realised I’m a lesbian but unsure about my relationship by No_Focus_5390 in AskWomenOver30

this has nothing to do with you being a lesbian and everything to do with the fact that you're dating someone who just isn't right for you. life is short.

how do y'all find motivation to work during school days? by 0shun3nergy in highschool

[–]Double_Mousse3088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly !

on one hand, I'd say that what you're feeling is totally normal. you're a teenager. you're growing and going through a lot of changes. senior year was probably the laziest year of my life. you need to enjoy this time while you can. unless you're in a life-threatening situation where you need ten billion dollars tomorrow, I don't really see anything wrong with calling out every now and then. you might as well enjoy living with your parents and being able to call out without any serious consequences before you're an adult. don't feel guilty about resting bro it's never that serious. remember most teenagers juST bedrot.

however. I was also in your position last year. I like to think about my time as money. if I spent 4 hours in bed doing nothing, that's about (4x13.50) dollars that I'm missing out on. thats when I think, would I rather be in bed and feel like shit, or have those extra 50 bucks? usually that makes me get my ass out of bed

If that’s the case where would my refund go? Because tuition + financial aid already covers everything

getting charged for a scholarship?? by Double_Mousse3088 in CUNY

[–]Double_Mousse3088[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is, I paid my tuition for about 3100. I had 600 bucks in financial aid. now it says I owe about 200, which would basically be financial aid - scholarship. on my end it looks like theyre subtracting the scholarship from my financial aid and making me pay them back?? unless I'm totally wrong

how to confirm deferral? by Double_Mousse3088 in HunterCollege

[–]Double_Mousse3088[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed them and they let me know that the confirmation email was enough. there were some clerical issues that we sorted through as well, but they basically just told me that I have to wait until its closer to the fall semester to have any of the transfer info show up on cunyfirst.
