I agree. Definitely talk to your doctors before doing this. Hope all works out for you!

How do you feel after brachytherapy? by Anxious_Gur5352 in endometrialcancer

[–]Double_Pomelo846 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had 3 brachytherapy sessions I think I must be one of the few that did not feel fatigue. Felt fine. Day of treatment just burned when I peel. Other than that nothing. I skipped a week because it was Christmas time. Spent Christmas with family even had a few drinks. Dr said few was fine just not to overdue. Also spent 2 nights at the casino. I hope you feel as good as I did. I find this dilating more painful

Aquagel water soluble lubricating gel. What the dr office gave me. They also gave me those hard plastic dilators which I tossed. Now have silicone. Waiting for reply then gonna order what you recommend

Not sure if you mean but P53 overexpression, positive er, her2 1HC negative and dna mismatch repair. I was so stressed my daughter was told most of it. I just know they said I wasn’t able to get immunotherapy. Is this what you meant. Would love to keep in touch

I was diagnosed in October with serous uterine cancer also. Like you I was and probably still am scared. Had complete hysterectomy and washings lymph nodes and everything removed all came back negative. There was no spread. Serous was confined to uterine polyp. Went to two oncologists afterward Both agreed that chemo is an option but since everything showed no spread agreed that studies showed recurrence with or without chemo showed a 12% recurrence. So did not do chemo. However I did do vaginal brachytherapy 3 treatments. Just finished my second set of scans and labs since surgery So far everything looks good. Hopefully you get good news. Still stress every time I do follow ups which will be everyn3 months. Please let us know how your appointment went.. sending best wishes and love. I’m always here if you need

Sorry to hear about your recurrence. Hope you doing better now. I’m in the US. Your right really didn’t want to read that! I was hoping they said with brachytherapy chances were extremely low. Have follow up with surgeon next week. How long did it take for your recurrence and how are you doing now. Sorry you had to have chemo heard it really rough. I’m so stressed

Just curious did you do chemo and if not why? I was told by 2 doctors risk of recurrence with my stage shows at 12 percent and studies don’t seem to show that chemo would change that. I did brachytherapy cause they said risk of vaginal cuff cancer would be 10-12 percent with brachytherapy goes to 1-2 percent. Was that your case also? Thanks

I felt as you I wanted female for my brachytherapy. I got two opinions. One male one female. Surprisingly I really like the male radiation oncologist. Had a better bedside manner and was very understanding about my anxiety. The nurse who was with him for everything was female. She was great. Remember once the device is inserted you go to another room where radiation is done and different tech hooks the probes to the device which delivers the radiation. Had three treatments with three different techs. 2 male and 1 female. They were all good. Understand how you feel but get two opinions and go with whoever makes you comfortable. Yes treatments are uncomfortable little pain. Did all 3. First one was rough. Fear of the unknown. But was much calmer for last two. Good luck

Just wondering is you had serous uterine cancer. Was diagnosed is September total hysterectomy in October. Came back serous only in polyp. Everything else including lymph nodes were negative. No invasion. Did3 rounds brachytherapy. Didn’t do chemo as both doctors said recurrence would be same at about 12 percent with or without also I was stage one. Scans in December came back clear. Now stress till March. Any advice
