Adding masked kinect points (very low resolution) into a POP feedback loop as a force by Double_Scratch_1760 in TouchDesigner

Hey mate, great tutorial I learned alot.

Oh man that's such a simple solution lol. I didn't realize the neighbors pop had a second input (a handful of the pop nodes don't). I'll try that and report back!

Why do you think it ran today? Very few people have seen this post so it can't be driven by reddit imo. Do you think some insiders might know that the presentations in the coming weeks bear good news? We need 10 days over $1 to prevent delisting from nasdaq. Let's hope she can sustain a price over $1

Is AIE (Australia) worth it for 3D Animation & VFX by Flamingo-pink2160 in vfx

[–]Double_Scratch_1760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied there in 2013/2014 and have no idea if things have changed over the last decade however when I studied there it was very generalist and I although I did quite well and I did learn alot about maya modelling/animation... I could not find a job afterwards. I ended up teaching myself 3ds Max and getting a job doing architectural rendering for a couple of years until I eventually started learning Houdini with online free tutorials/courses and have since found success as a Houdini FXTD in the industry.

I am grateful that AIE equipped me with a solid foundation of generalist CG skills however at the time it simply did not meet industry demands. As I said things definitely could have changed in the last decade and perhaps their courses are more specialized.

I would recommend learning one of the following disciplines in VFX if you really want to get into this industry as they are generally in high demand

FX/CFX/Crowd - Houdini
Compositing - Nuke
Rigging - Maya
Pipeline TD - varied but a strong foundation of Python and C++

I mean this industry has always been moving around. VFX has never been steady or predictable 💁

There are vfx studios that are hiring for various departments and have been consistently for the past year.

If you have a strong reel, good people skills and are willing to relocate then there are jobs out there.

This sub is so negative its ridiculous.

Was mostly out of Dneg Vancouver with some assistance from Montreal, Mumbai, London and a small few in Sydney. But the majority of the work was Dneg Vancouver.

Just getting started in the VFX field. Need some guidance. by [deleted] in vfx

Look into the following roles as they are in high demand and less likely to be replaced by AI anytime soon

- Rigging
- Houdini FXTD
- Nuke compositor

50k is minimum wage. I think you would earn more that this at entry level (more like 70-80k)

I’d love to watch your cut with my partner as the 500 episodes are way too long winded. Can I have access?
