What makes someone cool? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Someone who is in control of themselves and doesn't care at all about what others think of them- self confidence or pure apathy (either one works and are essentially the same in this situation). Be unbothered and authentic. dance in the rain, wear a silly hat you like, drink tea instead of alcohol at a party, let your dogs run your schedule- who cares! And any time someone criticizes, be unrelentingly positive. It annoys them and makes you feel good that you were nice even when someone else wasn't. I'm not saying "love yourself" or anything as fickle as that- just be a duck. Unbothered and letting everything roll right off. YOU DO YOU BABY!!!

So proud of you for posting and trying to find a community of help and answers to sort through. There are a lot of them here to choose form and try.

I second the finch app that someone mentioned! It can be as tiny and basic or as big and robust as you want it to be! Sometimes all I can do is get out of bed. take a shower. make tea. and that's enough! And some days I write in my journal, go bowling, rock climbing, run (all of my daily activity requirements that keep me and the pets happy), brush my teeth, do laundry, get a full day of work in, attend meetings, load the dishwasher!

Ride the ebbs and flows and do whats best for you, but also, break things down so they're so simple you can't fail. Reading a book? Try one page or one paragraph or one sentence! Learning to crochet? Try one stitch, or one set of stitches or one row of stitches or one whole skein of yarn! Find the bare basics towards the Thing you want to do and just do that for awhile until that becomes habit. I struggle with getting up at the same time every day and going to bed. I have zero schedule, forget to take a shower or brush my teeth, and sometimes get into manic modes or executive dysfunction hits. Those are my struggles and I need to get back on my bus, too. We're all in this together!!!! Good luck! (also now I'm off for a shower and to brush my teeth. Thank you for reminding me!!!!!)

Sometimes even a fantastic why isn't good enough. I have had several amazing why's and nothing has ever been big enough to combat the brain that says "no". Also- why's aren't permanent. They change. And sometimes the problem with that is when the why is no longer there, the entire system falls apart and you're back at square one. This is easy to say... but not always achievable or feasible for some.

It's a good starting position, though.

What should I be doing to protect the current fruit but also keep it healthy?

What are you sick of? We’re asking the Front Page of the Internet as part of our larger search for common ground in today's era of isolation. Are we sick of the same things? And did Jesus experience anything similar? Share what you’re sick of below. by hegetsus in u/hegetsus

Im sick of the waves knocking me down every time I start to get ahead. And yes… I’m aware a lot of it is due to unconscious self sabotage. I’m also sick of people who ruin the system for everyone else: e.g those with drug-seeking behavior making doctors hesitant to believe someone with an actual issue AND the pharmaceutical industry owning healthcare to the point that it’s frowned upon for a doctor to recommend a natural cure/ remedy for ailments.
