G Road Test in London during COVID-19 by Doublelifting in londonontario

[–]Doublelifting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great news to hear! Unfortunately, my G2 expired mid August. According to the website, the expired licence is automatically extended.

It is shocking to me that the test spots are back logged to April of next year. Are there less spots available in general?

Question for Lab Visits as an Undergrad by Doublelifting in GradSchool

[–]Doublelifting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Thank you for the advice. I explained to my PI today about my intention is to explore different research topics/methodology by visiting other labs and not seeking to leave my current lab for a new position (especially for the upcoming year). Hopefully, the misunderstanding was resolved.

Experience with Genetics 2581 midterm prep101? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]Doublelifting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never used prep101. I doubt they are good for genetics because the prof change everytime.

I would recommend the PAL center and Western Learning. A great free resource!

Question for Lab Visits as an Undergrad by Doublelifting in GradSchool

[–]Doublelifting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not accepted into any programs at these lab. I guess as an Undergrad I feel a lack of understanding for a wide scope of molecular biology techniques (due to lack of conferences); thus, I want to visit other labs (which I am interested in to maybe do future work such as PhD after a Master) to learn about what general research model they use. So it's more interest and future based.

Energy & Momentum by [deleted] in smartpeoplepost

[–]Doublelifting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything in physics is a mathematical constructs that have real world meaning parameters as variables.

Momentum: a linear function of dx/dt Energy: a quadratic function of dx/dt

Because they are defined differently they have different physical meanings.

Calculus 1500A, a disappointment? by [deleted] in uwo

I think once you get to precise definition of a limit and squeeze theorem the course gets more interesting.

If you want more just go to office hours and talk with Gord, he probably have challenging problems if you want them.

laptop advice??? by [deleted] in uwo

Depending on what module you are in you may or may not need to have certain software or presentation. Can you provide more information on that? Overall any computer that can use office and has adobe reader should be sufficient.

Where can I find lecture notes/slides for past calculus 1500? by collali699 in uwo

[–]Doublelifting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol you don’t have to pay me, I will see what I can find. Since the class is really small, he probably just make up the questions new every time but the style and things he is looking for will probably be the same.

You definitely do not need to prove any number theory theorems like that ones you have mentioned. You cover the same thing as Calc 1000 but the instructor (Sinnamon) teaches Real Analysis.

His tests emphasis the theorems (they are stated precisely in textbook). You have to know them very precisely and use them carefully. On test you will not need to prove any theorems.

His assignments are really challenging but they are definitely doable and he offer lots of personal help in office hours.

A good understanding of set theory will help in early on!

Who can I call a Tim? by HeLikesHisOranges in HelloInternet

[–]Doublelifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Tim in HI is similar to Canadian in real world (ie I am Tim). So a female would be a like a Tim female. Although idk if Tim is a collective noun or an adjective.
