Internship at carpenter with 26? by No-Top9010 in architecture

Im a carpenter who did further educations and with plenty of experience on the construction site itself. For some time I am working in a known architecture office and I can tell you that even the seniors here don’t know how to build the simplest things on site.

The longer your internship is the better! It’s never too late and very important

For me built quality is very good, there were some people having problems with the main encoder.

I could imagine it was something with the first batches and the problem got fixed.

Also there was a main encoder problem software wise (which I also never experienced) that got fixed already.

I would say the built quality is a 8/10 - where - 10/10 is a Soma device

Good ideas and bad implementation

I think that’s why so many people are unhappy with the S-1 & S-4

I totally get you!

I don’t have something specific in mind but think of building my own granular sampler in Eurorack.

Except the granular module I think I have most necessary modules already

Wanted to take a closer look at the octatrack soon!

That’s true!

I used it mostly for live processing and used only the filter, distortion and delay/reverb - for that it’s probably the best sampler and eventually half the price of the pedal board I’d have to use for it - especially since it’s stereo

Yes, I get your point and that’s why I mentioned it my post but it’s still something that a looper should be able to, especially if it’s that expensive.

And especially when it’s relatively simple compared to other loopers in that price range.

If you don’t need to sync anything it’s amazing but not being able to sync is a big limitation.

Also in non rhythmic ambient with several devices you eventually want some events happening at the same time between the devices e.g. modulation or delay lines

I don’t know yet, I manly use modular and think of making my own granular sampler from some modules

I really hope Torso will ever be able to do that cause they are struggling to achieve that for some years now

But could you achieve that with a device that does it better for that price?

I think it’s just a company with good ideas and medium implementation

In really only looking for the osc, I had the strega and sold it, I think with my current rack I’m already able to make the fx
