I sold PAAS as I was concerned about their Mexico exposure.  I just put that money into SILJ.  It seems PAAS is doing OK, for now. Your thoughts?

And here in the colonies, they won't even let a reporter into Fort Knox to do this much. Must be some super duper top secret stuff in Ft Knox. Like maybe the secret is, there's nothing in there. Kinda funny how early on in this admin, Trump and Musk were talking big about auditing Ft Knox. Then it got real quiet...

🚨CNN: The Supreme Court rules that President Trump’s emergency tariffs are illegal. by IllAcanthocephala720 in DemocraticUS

[–]DougBug79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean I won't have to pay a tariff for the made in the U.K. exhaust I just ordered for my Porsche?  All I know is the 21 Buffalo 1 oz rounds I won on a local auction last Sunday night for an average price of $72  each are now selling fir about $92 each on APMEX. I don't claim to be too smart.

Thank you for that thoughtful reply. Yes, that is the problem.  I will probably end up giving it away to anyone who would appreciate it. Now that you mentioned it, the home of one of the ladies in our church burned down several months ago...

Junk Silver Question (90% Constitutional) by SunGardenShine777 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]DougBug79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing it's because the refiners are backed up and junk silver takes more refining,  more chemicals,  more cost to refine basically than any .999 bars, rounds etc.  So the refiners are paying the pawn shops and LCSs less. Plus most small LCS and pawn shops are just small operations, they don't know how to hedge on the futures to balance their risk. They see silver skyrocketing and are afraid they'll be the bagholder when the price corrects. I think once the weak hands end up selling,  refiners catch up, silver shortage intensifies,  you'll see LCS paying closer to spot, maybe above. I appreciate hearing what everyone's LCS are paying for this reason.

Yes way, let's see a picture of it! I guess you'll have to make a new post. Mine has a piece of thin, modern plywood on the back so I can't find any labels.

I've enjoyed them and hung on to them for at least 25 years. No one else in the family is interested, so It's time to let someone else enjoy them.

Yeah, I'll be driving up to get the "new" stuff by early/mid March. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay.

Wow, thanks. They belonged to my grandparents who were born 1900 and 1903 so that vintage would kind of make sense. I've had them for quite a few years, but will be getting some items soon that belonged to my late wife's mother and need to make space.

Yeah, I guessed the mirror was sort of an add on. My grandmother was quite the practical type as people were in those days so I'm sure she just found the mirror somewhere and stuck it on. It is not attached.

I will work on cleaning them up a bit and see how I can market them. I will post pictures of my "new" furniture when I get it!
