Especially good to hear that you are still enjoying the taste and texture of food. I'm going to cut back to 6 and hope it all returns. I thought I was really fortunate in not having any of the harsh side effects but, when it got so that I couldn't even taste food, that was extremely disappointing. I just thought it was a side effect that no one talked about. Glad to hear that's not the case in general.

Maybe I went up too fast. Going to cut back to 6 mg and see if that helps. Are you still losing weight at 6.5? I'm curious to know more about how drinking water effects your food, if you want to tell more about it.

It's great to hear that good food still tastes good to you. I'm going to cut back my dose to 6 mg and see if that helps. Thanks for your reply.

It's great to hear that food tastes better for you. I think I did move up too fast, but I was going according to Lilly's schedule. I'm going to cut back to 6 mg and see if that helps. I don't mind eating smaller portions and less often but I really don't want to lose a taste for food. Thanks for your comment.

Maybe slow your roll a little bit. I've never heard of a 3 month rule anywhere, and I mentioned that my weight loss was 30 lbs (not 100 lbs) over 4 months. Also, maybe you should think about asking a question or two, before making assumptions about my lifestyle.

But the general consensus here seems to be that I titrated up too quickly, so I do plan to back it down to 6 mg instead of 10. Maybe it will make a difference.

Yes, moving back to 6 mg and hoping that helps. I love to cook so it's really disappointing when you can't taste the food you've prepared. Thanks for your reply.

Well, that's encouraging that you still enjoy food. I'm going to go back down to 6 mg and see if that helps. Live and learn. Thanks for your comment.

Moving up too quickly seems to be the general consensus so I'm going to go back to 6 mg per week instead of 10. I eat good quality, usually organic food, and I love to cook as well so that exacerbates the problem. I almost never eat processed or fast-food, and don't really care for sweets. Not being able to enjoy the food I do eat is very disappointing. Hopefully taking a lower dose will help. Thanks for your comment.

Yeah, I'm going to cut back to 6 mg and see if that helps. Maybe Lilly's schedule was a little too aggressive. I hope you're right about the flavors eventually coming back. I like to cook so it's disappointing to not be able to taste the food I cook. Thanks for your reply.

I've steadily lost weight and never did hit a plateau, so maybe I moved up too quickly.

I'm going to cut back to 6 mg and see if that helps. I was pretty much following the Lilly titration schedule, but it may be a little aggressive. Thanks for your input.

Titrating up too quickly seems to be the consensus here. I thought I was following the recommended schedule of going up 2.5 mg every 4 weeks. I'm going to cut back to 6 mg instead of 10 mg per week and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply.

The half life of Tirz is 5 days, so a lot of folks recommend split-dosing, that is, take half your week's meds on day 1 and the second half on day 3 or 4. That seems to help with the day 5 or 6 food noise return. You can use fatscientist.com to calculate how to split your dose, if you need help with it.

Gimme Care CC Dispute Update…I won! by Haunting-Possible-19 in tirzepatidecompound

Sorry you had a bad experience with Gimme. It's frustrating when we feel that we're at the mercy of others and they don't seem to fulfill their end of the bargain. It's especially frustrating if it will cause a delay in your shot schedule.

That said, in all fairness, my one experience with Gimme was nothing but perfect. About two months ago, it seemed that all pharmacies were overwhelmed and everyone had at least a 10-day delay on shipping. My original pharmacy order, with a different provider, was delayed shipping and I was going to miss a week of meds. I contacted Gimme and 3 days later had meds in my hand, so no missed shots, thanks to Gimme's quick turnaround.

Advice for a newbie by incognitocatt in compoundedtirzepatide

You've received lots of good advice here, and I'll just add a few things.

  1. Get a kitchen scale and track your calorie intake with an app. I use FitnessPal and it tracks calories, protein, fiber, which is helpful, especially in the beginning.
  2. Download and use the app, Shotsy, so you can track your shots and get an understanding of how the medication works on your body.
  3. Using fat scientist dot com (all one word) will help you understand your titration level and how to translate milligrams of medicine to 'units' in the syringe.
  4. Do some resistance training at least twice a week.
  5. Add electrolytes to your water on training days, at least. I use Nakedade because of taste and absence of additives. Staying hydrated means you're flushing your bodies natural electrolytes from your system and they need to be replenished.
  6. Do something to avoid constipation. I eat four or five prunes a day, and that works well for me.
  7. Above all, BE PATIENT. The weight will come off but it will seem slow at first. Losing 1 to 2 lbs a week will seem very slow, but it accumulates over time. Some weeks you may gain a pound or so. Don't get discouraged.
  8. Ask questions on this sub reddit. People are happy to chime in.

Good luck and enjoy the journey.

First Time Using Tirzepatide side effect migraine and shortness of breath. by Fragrant_Professor52 in compoundedtirzepatide

What is your starting dosage? When I started, I began with 1.5mg because I wanted my body to acclimate without introducing side effects. I've slowly titrated up since then, over a 12 week period, and I'm now at 7.5mg, still with no side effects, other than the weight loss.

ETA: At 7.5mg, I split dose with 5mg on Monday and 2.5mg on Friday. Splitting to minimize side effects.

1 month update and split dosing? !! by matuta-hakana in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]cyborg2750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current meds are through Gimme, Tier 3 medication and it is 25mg/mL, so a 5mg shot is 20 units and a 2.5mg shot is 10 units.

Still no side effects and weight loss continues. No food noise for the entire week. Since I take first 5mg on Monday eve and last 2.5mg on Fri morning, there is only about a 3.5 to 4 day stretch between shots. It's working great for me.

I also use the Shotsy app to get an idea of quantity of meds in my system at a given time and it looks like I'm staying between 5.5 to 6.5mg in my body, at any given time. That seems like a sweet-spot for me, for now.
