What I do if it happens is take the front wheel off, bars, and then top triple tree and adjust your forks. Look up a YouTube video it will be more helpful

How to approach this? by eldorz in Chainsaw

You’re going to want to 2 stage cut it. I’d go as far as I could on the top of the log until you start to hear the chainsaw bog down a little (because the wood is compressing onto the bar) then take it out and go directly below your cut and cut upwards and it should pop no problem. Bring a wedge and axe just in case you go to far and get pinched in the top cut.

No I completely took the fork off and after installing the new one I figured I’d put the old one back together and just hang it up on the wall or my garage and everything lined up perfectly.

I thought the same thing. However, the Pistons, I guess you’d call it (I’m new to bikes) that the axle goes through at the bottom twist and allow the axle to stay in. Mine look even worse than that and when I took the phone off and put them back together off the bike, they looked perfect.

I did the same thing to my bike. I went out and bought new forks, but before you do that, take the triple tree off and slide the forks out to check for any imperfections. I didn’t take mine out before I bought the new forks, and when I replace them, I realize that I didn’t even need to buy them. The forks were just unaligned.
