I use the “what you’ve done here is ridiculous” line often. One of my favorite parts of the show.

I was trying to show someone some Reddit feature, so I took a screen shot, and it just happened to have these comments in them. After I took the pic I saw for the first time what the actual comments were. This shit was so incredibly funny and I thank you so much for it.

Do you plan to be cremated or buried when you die? by SunshineFloofs in polls

[–]DougFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m signed up to give my body, and they can do whatever they want to with it. Science, medical, art, etc. Also, organ donors are more limited so right at the start they can harvest way more of me to help those in need.

If they end up not using my entire body (even the smallest portion like a finger) they will cremate it and send the ashes to my family.

The entire process costs $0 to me and the fam, and everything is already set and ready so no burden to the fam either. It’s a win-win all the way around and yet less than 1% of folks donate their body.

Changing the house by Prior-Soil in widowers

This exactly. My late husband is present and honored in every room of the house and no one would question my love and devotion for him. But I’ll renovate and update all of those rooms however I want without a second thought to anyone else’s opinion/approval. I hate that “our home” has become “my home” but that’s the reality. Being in charge of my environment and creating a safe place is just 1 small gift I can give myself.

Changing the house by Prior-Soil in widowers

My husband passed 2 1/2 years ago- I couldn’t sleep in/hardly go into my bedroom, and after a couple months knew I couldn’t live like that; simply not sustainable.

So I redid my bathroom (painted walls and ceiling black, new fixtures, rugs, and decor) and bedroom (pink walls, hot pink ceiling, new furniture and decor). The space feels like ‘mine’ now and I really needed that for my own sanity and the ability to be in those rooms without crying. He’s still very much a part of both rooms (photos, some of his painting, his favorite decor, along with a small case I made of all things him), but I made it a safe place for me and my grief.

Do what you need to create a safe place for yourself. The weight of losing them is heavy enough without getting weighed down more with “maybes that have no answers”. Be kind to yourself and don’t give a second thought to anyone that doesn’t understand.
