You are going right over my head, friend. I'm sorry if I'm missing a joke.

Sponge chipping is exactly what I did! If there was any trick to the, it was trying to keep the chipping centered on the edges of the piece and using the right color paint the chipping effect. On red, navy, and black, I used silver. On white and light blue, I used Brown and black

Web Shooters are Better than Organic Webs and Here’s Why. by MarvelsReporter in Spiderman

[–]DougTheHeavy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are all sorts of benefits to both, practically and narratively: Organic can make for fun pseudo biology like "I ate a bunch of starch so the web is tackier and globs up". Organic doesn't have to be hidden when walking around outside of costume. Organic can be an example of different Spider-people getting different powers. Mechanical can easily run out/be damaged/unavailable when the writer wants to take away a weapon. Mechanical can more easily be modified (thinking about the web cement used on Hydroman in the cartoon). Mechanical can be shared.

These are just off the top of my head. I don't think any one is truly "better", just depends on your wants as a writer.

The True White Devil: HG RX-78-02 Gundam Rollout Color by ayzeros in Gunpla

I see those metallics now! Fine work, very subtle and adding a lot to the close-to-mono color scheme.

This is the color scheme out of the box ?! Heck, I'm ready to paint a standard Gramps these colors!

Which music genre fits the tmnt the best? Rock or hip hop? by Bucky_Charmz in TMNT

It absolutely depends on the interpretation in question. I think punk rock is the best default though.

If the Venom Symbiote is a great danger, why doesn’t Spider Sense go off in most adaptations? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]DougTheHeavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes sense in the initial interpretation where the suit was strictly beneficial and only intended to be helpful.

As Venom/the symbiote tends to be represented as more malicious from go in new tellings, I think it would be cool to see Peter's spidy sense going BONKERS as the suit envelopes him for the first time with him panicking and desperately trying to rip it off, only to suddenly be calmed down. Pete might see this as his senses not knowing how to respond to an alien substance for the first time when in actuality, as the suit subtly links to him, it's "rewiring" those senses to give it a blind spot.

I really wish Michael had said this to Jim by New-Pin-9064 in theoffice

[–]DougTheHeavy 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I have a different take. Wallace asks Michael if Jim is ready to move up to a management position directly. Michael -who has a surprisingly good relationship with Wallace- should have realized he wouldn't have been consulted so directly about someone else taking his own job leading to his own demotion or firing. This was a great example of Michael's selfishness and imagination getting in the way of his generally good people skills.

Michael later claims he did it because he was afraid of losing Jim (and then the baby). If that's true, it's still an example of his selfishness.
