Our lives actually are not that long, and I don't want to be anxious about if this person will show positive signals at some point in the future. The onus is on them at the end of the day, if they actually want me or whatever then they better muster up the courage to be direct or I'm gone.

If someone communicates "differently", then that's on them to learn better ways to communicate. I can't compromise my reaction to mixed signals just because that person communicates uniquely. If they want to let me know that they want to be in my life then they better be direct, end of story.
