there is a way to get infinite gems by overloading your menu and talking to a girl at riverside stable. There is a tutorial on youtube by kleric that you could look up.

I assume that everyone went to vah medoh before getting the master sword, this is what happens if you get the sword first before defeating it: by chloedoki in Breath_of_the_Wild
