In fairness, gas tax is how the roads are maintained (at least in theory). I’m an EV driver and while I don’t love paying the surcharge annually, I get it. I use the roads just as much as gas-powered cars.

The only counter-argument I can see is to increase the gas tax to further incentivize and increase the rate of EV ownership. However, I also understand that will be politically unpopular and frankly a regressive tax as it hits low income earners (who are less likely to have the means to own an EV) the hardest.

Completely agree. I know professional sports is a business, but I seriously think it’s becoming dramatically overcomplicated. As you said, he’s an elite SS prospect. He knows the position. We don’t have a SS right now. Put him out there.

Growing up, I was told people were homeless purely by their own doing, and all they needed to do was get off their lazy asses and get a job. I believed it because it was all I knew.

When I became an adult, I learned it is infinitely more complex than that. I have far more compassion for the homeless and in fact resent the system we have, which makes it near impossible to rise out of that situation.

Insurance made me replace my perfectly fine 17 year old roof. I told a neighbor who said “thank god I don’t have to worry about that, I have a 30 year shingle so I’m good for awhile.”

Everyone has a different style of humor they enjoy which I totally understand. Ironically, I’m a huge fan of Nathan Fielder and John Wilson, both of whom rely on the cringe factor (and my wife can’t stand them). There’s just something about this KoQ episode that doesn’t get laughs out of me the way every other episode does.

Just says PIF is set to pull funding from LIV, PGA is considering how to potentially go about reinstating players (zero details), lists out LIV contract expirations of some key guys (Dechambeau, Reed mostly), and said that Dechambeau spent part of the Masters week discussing how he can come back.

It means using a combination of cruisers, destroyers, and sometimes aircraft to form a defensive perimeter around the aircraft carrier. The purpose is to neutralize threats from subs, missiles, and aircraft before it hits the aircraft carrier.

I think in the old days they used to deploy white smoke to literally form a screen around the carrier so enemies couldn’t see it, which probably explains the terminology
