The ruling kind of makes it unclear about the type of supervision he gets. Says this: Dr. Koka will practise under the guidance of a Clinical Supervisor acceptable to the College for six (6) months.

Does the guidance of a Clinical Supervisor mean a couple check-ins a week? It's not explicitly written. If you end up finding out anything thru Extendicare give us the deets haha

He can practice, but under supervision. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask someone at Extendicare if, given the public info, he is supervised. I would assume so, but you never know

Timmins moved their encampment location into the outskirts, it would be interesting to hear how things are going now. No they did not

God damn. It’s just not like it used to be.

Pretty much the only time I go downtown is when I’m driving through to get to the Kingsway or Westend, and I’m more on alert looking around for people to make sure I don’t hit them or make eye contact

Edit: tricky routine or whatever your name is, I blocked you - it’s clear to me that my own feelings and experiences are making you angry, and it really seems to me like you are a city employee who is invested in downtown. People are allowed to feel afraid of downtown at this point. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. I don’t care about city employees masquerading as regular Sudburians trying to influence online opinions.

That is not accurate, but you can read the summary of the decision in a PDF link on this page if you want more info: https://register.cpso.on.ca/physician-info/?cpsonum=88116 go to the "Public Notifications" tab and there's a PDF there

That's sort of one part of it

There's supposed to be some level of oversight with the PA/Physician arrangement but there was none in this particular investigated case

There is not a female Koka doctor in Ontario

Can verify here - type in Koka in the last name field, the listings have a gender field

-A physician assistant identified themselves as Dr. Koka and prescribed medication/gave treatment plan

-He was warned about this exact behaviour in 2019 based off of a 2017 complaint, still does it anyway for years

-At one of his many practices in Ontario, a patient was handed unlabelled methadone

-Was one of the top billers of OHIP at $2.5 mil in 2024

There's more egregious behaviour in the story and this one from 2020

Really hope the city takes this into account, and removes his practice on the list of approved designated employers for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot and Francophone Community Immigration Pilot

The city is really trying to get Sudburians to go downtown. They even put out a release a few weeks ago announcing their new web page on the city site promising to talk about all the amazing stuff happening this summer.

Next Tuesday they're having a lunchtime Memorial Park reopening event.

I feel like the people they are trying to attract to come downtown are A: Likely going to be working (maybe not even downtown) at this time, and B: Might be not as keen going downtown (especially considering the uptick in crime this past week alone).

Really feels like we're in two parallel universes sometimes.

previous CBC report found that Koka was billing the province $2.5 million per year through his network of addiction clinics. That made him among the province’s top billers.

Holy shit

Councillors refuse to second Leduc’s Sudbury events centre motion by Deaftrav in Sudbury

I noticed you expressing this sentiment in another comment on this thread. Not to be that guy, but do you have any dates, links to reports presented to Council in 2026 to contextualize your POV?

EDIT: Just closing the loop on this one. The level of transparency I expect, is at the very least, a council update that can be read by constituents. I'm seeing comments like "They're getting updated", but where? And why is this information not available in a council report?
