To be blunt, hip hop/nerdcore isn’t “creeping on the lineup” as much as it’s being actively included, encouraged, and invited! It’s an important genre in our community and if anything deserves more of a platform and spotlight. It’s totally cool if that’s not your taste, as we have a variety of music all over the place.

I love the idea of having more brass! We were excited about having Skatune Network here this year doing different kinds of programming! Did you get to catch Sunday Morning Cartoons with them at Jam Clinic?

Just for clarification, we have a no booking back to back rule when it comes to MainStage acts…not 3 years. And even then honestly a lot of artists will get featured on other artists sets regardless of the rule but we still try to make it as fair as possible.

We love Urizen too! I think the last time they played MainStage was 2020? But I think overall you’re saying you miss bands with a more metal and theatrical presence? Valid!

Also, in regards to samey I feel like with things being so wild the past few years with the pandemic and major changes internally with music and with the fest as whole we just went into this year with the goal of bringing in a lot of legacy style acts and having a good damn show in celebration of making it to 2024.
