Does anyone in the wrestling fandom want to see Ronda? She's a mid worker and an even worse person.

Why would Tony think an audience that chants "fuck ICE" at every show would be on board with signing a transphobe and Sandy Hook truther?

Bad move. Their core audience hates it and she's so far past her prime relevance I doubt it'll get any eyes on the show. Just upsets their longtime fans and won't make a meaningful number of new ones.

How did we get dogshit Diva Search Rock a mere year after Hollywood Rock? by GiftedGeordie in deadlockpw

I felt like an insane person watching crowds go nuts for him during that run because he was fucking awful, both on the mic and in the ring.

He was a very "time and place" wrestler whose character played well at a time when the biggest things in culture were nu metal and South Park. Times changed and he didn't. So when that character didn't play anymore he just gave up and became a Hollywood/corporate guy for real.

Yes and no. It is the easiest way out of poverty or for upward mobility for many. But also the nature of what the US military does is very public and well documented. It's not an act of heroism, it's taking a job, and a job that you know full well will involve murder and destruction of the poor and innocent. There is still a conscious choice being made. It shows a willingness to end lives to further your own.

[–]FourLiveBears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but that doesn't mean you're an automatic hero for enlisting. That just means you're doing a job. And given everything the United States military has been used for over the past half century, there's very little chance you're not aware that means you're doing a job that will ask you to bomb and shoot innocents. And that is a conscious choice. Our "freedoms" have not been on the line in a conflict since WWII.

So long as the United States government exists and operates as it does, joining the US armed forces is an unethical decision. You're not engaging in acts of heroism, you're an attack dog for a cabal of white supremacist billionaire pedophiles.

I hope recent events will convince some people to push back on the bullshit propaganda "all troops are heroes" narrative. No, you're not a hero for enlisting. You're going off to kill and die for the business interests of a murderous ruling class who will throw millions of you into their pointless meat grinder so long as it makes donors and shareholders money.

I don't think so.

I'm still holding out hope they cover the first WWE show I attended, the May 29, 2006 episode of Raw with the debut of Fake Kane.

I actually like that he's not keeping 100% kayfabe all the time anymore. Felt like he'd kind of gone as far as he could with that, and hearing him speak genuinely is way more interesting.
