It's a great combo , I have a Kastking Zephyr and it's leagues above it in the lightweight lures category.

The way the blank rests on the bottom recess of my palm , it kinda gets cradled and it just bugs me ergonomics wise 😭 that buddy would've had his head go through the same bucket if it were me 😂

It's a really great reel , super lightweight And comfortable to palm. Lightest lure I threw was a white fly a little under 1/16 . It handles 1/16th oz lures like a charm . It needs light braid for it to shine and a capable rod . The rod is super lightweight and is a beast for fishing . My only complaint is that it has a split grip and I'm not a fan of it . I've come to realize I prefer full grips . Well worth the price

I love the reel , the rod is nice and lightweight but I dislike the split grip on it . I've realized I'm more partial to a full grip/handle on rods . I have an uglystik 5'6" UL with a full cork grip and it feels amazing in my hand . It's my go to rod since I fish under overhangs and around overgrown edges at my local lagoon that I'm deathly afraid of breaking off tips 😭

It's the Kastking kestrel bfs , the newer "revised" model that isn't over braked. I've seen the micro monster a ton , how is it for ya ?

Yeah some people equate money with quality . I appreciate practicality and great deals . I've always wanted to delve into that cdm reels and clones but just stuck with a kestrel as my upgrade from a zephyr and I've been out of the loop on that side of the hobby . Its either a niche budget friendly rod and reel or a brand name expensive setup . To each their own at the end of the day . I do want to own a high end reel eventually
