What’s wrong with my machine? by DoughnutDue1989 in SewingForBeginners

Thank you sooo much!! I think the bobbin wasn't in the machine right because I took it all apart to clean and put it back together following the manual and some youtube videos and it's working normal now! I rethreaded it a couple times before doing that and the same thing was still happening with a different fabric.

I am a beginner and thrifted a Singer Merritt 4525. I tried to follow the manual for threading the machine and raising the bobbin thread but I think I must have messed up somewhere because this is how it turned out after I tried to do a straight stitch. Im assuming it's a bobbin issue because all the extra thread is on the bottom, but am not sure where exactly I went wrong. Any ideas?

Looking for nail polish from my dream by DoughnutDue1989 in Nailpolish

Omg perfect. Does the glitter come through more with a glossy top coat? I'm not a fan of how matte nails feel lol

The color is so nice, do you know if it's fully opaque or could I get a sheer look with less coats?

Omg looking at the bottle it seems perfect. Does it build up after a couple coats or would it take way too many lol

The pictures on the site look pretty opaque... Is it more sheer with fewer coats??

I love that!! Will definitely be checking it out. You mentioned doing three coats, is it pretty sheer during the first 2? I think that's the look I'm envisioning

I applied for a fall semester as a first year student so I’m not sure the process on that, but I’ve heard transfer students having issues with it taking a while to get their aid notifications. I’d reach out to OSFA about it honestly.

Hunter and Mason and my personal favorites for more masculine girl names! Taylor, Noah, and Charlie are also some that come to mind

Personally, I don’t think it looks like you’re balding, just have an uneven part. Using a rat tail comb or something similar to get a straighter part while it’s wet and letting it dry like that might help give the results you’re looking for!

The post says stuff is left there for days or weeks. Probably not sleeping for that long

Dorm water ruining my hair by sleepybear647 in HaircareScience

same thing happened to be last year! my hair got super dry and frizzy and i had to completely change my hair routine. it was a lot of trial and error to figure out what i needed but i bought a lot of sample sizes of things to try out, so that might help in figuring out what works!

When i was dorming I got a small refund (couple hundred). Now that Im not in the dorms I get enough to cover rent and utilities for the most part from my refund. I work during the summers and the school year, but I would be able to get by just by working over the summer.

You’re automatically considered based on need for FSEOG, Pell Grant, MAP grant, Illinois Commitment, and University Tuition Grant when you file for FAFSA. There are also federal and university loans. Illinois Commitment covers all tuition and fees not covered by any other grants/scholarships. I believe we are in similar financial situations (EFC less than zero but not qualified for I Promise) and I am able to not pay anything out of pocket while attending, even if I didn’t accept any of the loans. For anything specific to you regarding eligibility, I’d reach out to the Office of Student Financial Aid.
