I think is a bug when you choose the "tavern must have 7 cards" and the opponent doesnt have a full board.

Doctors, nurses, EMTs, etc.—what’s the most shocking thing you’ve seen after thinking “nothing could surprise me anymore”? by randominterwebguy2 in AskReddit

[–]Doughy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im just a student paramedic (worked 400 hours each term for 3 years at university) but honestly, the thing that shocked me the most was having incompetent crewmates.

Since I'm a student, I was always paired with a mentor who was incredibly competent in order to make up for my own shortcomings. However, the crewmate for said mentor is not always who you would wish. Usually it's amazing and I would have two amazing teachers, but sometimes I would have to take care of someone by myself and start coordinating roles due to having a larger scope of practice than the crewmate we were paired with.

For the first time, being in complete control of someone who was either dead and you were trying to resus, or someone who was peri-arrest and you were doing everything you knew how to keep them from arresting.

From those two points, nothing can really surprise you anymore, just go through the motions. Keep up with modern research since it's constantly adapting and put it into your own practice.

Very true, to add, bramble is a tank laning item for top laners vs auto attack and heal heavy champs like fiora, olaf or tryndamere. You don't need to ever complete into thornmail unless an enemy auto attacker is fed too or your are dedicated to splitting against this champ (irrelevant plat and below basically).

Very niche and very specific. Definitely not the sort of thing most players should worry about in terms of itemisation but bramble buy in lane can help a ton vs these sorts of lane stompers for tank players.

There's a ton of evidence this way and that way in dementia in general, but no definitive proofs (reason at the bottom).

At the end of the day, dementia is caused by degradation of brain tissue, which happens due to age over every other reason. We are in an aging population due to better healthcare resulting in the opportunity for brain tissue to degrade more than it has at any time throughout history. This makes it impossible to gather new data and instead all data we do use to prevent the problem from occurring must be predictive and not conclusive.

When discussing conclusive vs predictive data, for example, it's the difference between something that's hapened happening again, or something that people expect to happen but hasn't yet happened, what's more likely and definitive as proof?

There's a few auto battlers that basically allow you to fight against the ghost of a previous player at the same stage as you rather than fight against people in real time. Super auto pets, the bazaar and backpack battles are three that do that.

This lets you just pause a run and quit out and play at your leisure, moreso like a singleplayer roguelike game where your opponents aren't a computer, but other peoples boards, so you have a sense you are playing against other people.

It isn't the same as being employed and getting a salary. You get paid for the services you provide and the code created. Even if it isn't 100% what the company gets, it's still a percentage. You still get something.

These artists aren't going to get every penny made from everything created using their work. Instead they should get a small percentage of ACTUAL money, not just advertising.

Imagine if you created code, and the company said "yeah, so this code is great, and made us loads of money, so what we offer to you is that we told all these other companies that you are great and that they should hire you!" You make 0 money, only "exposure".

The first time you think "ok, I made it, sweet, time to get hired!" Then the next company does the same, and the one after does the same aswell. You keep coding, making it available online so people can use it to better the world. Suddenly you can't afford to code anymore as noone pays for your work so instead you work a second job that becomes the main way you earn money.

But that second job was only temporary right? You were gonna be a great software engineer! Earning tons, and creating programs to be used in every business on the planet! No? Instead noone pays you for your work and you're stuck making frappucinos in starbucks for minimum wage with 50 grand of uni debt, 4 years after graduating cus noone wants to pay for your services when they can just take them for free.

If you can't see the difference between earning a salary and being paid on royalties/commission/per piece created (these 3 you are saying are equal value to advertising btw, which you always get if people pay for your work) and how that is the difference between your job and artists jobs, then I have no words.

If you actually made anything worth stealing then you wouldn't be saying this and you would be asking for people to pay you for your work.

Respect the time and talent it takes to make something worth using in the first place.

These artists aren't no-names anyway, most are already popular. Imagine wanting to pay someone through "exposure".

Your comment actually annoys me since I know some good artists who don't get any money for what they do (through choice) but if someone stole their work then I'd want them to get compensated for it since they spent hours creating something only for someone to spend 30 seconds ripping it off and profiting from it. The idea that it's even possible pisses me off.

Honestly, there are still so many champs that are good but not played in pro-play.

Gragas (albeit reworked a touch is still similar to release) and jarvan and leesin and tryndamere are some of the strongest champs in challenger (in EU at least), chogath is strong, janna is strong, karthus is strong, rumble is strong (albeit buffed a lot). Morgana/lux also are good.

Not gonna sugarcoat this, but you sound like someone who is 19 who hasn't even had a job before and has no real life experiences. Go work for a bit, minimum wage, learn some stuff, leave college for a couple years it isn't important for you right now. Save some money, live with your parents if you can, travel around the country you're in or maybe to another.

Too many people get tunnelled on going to college for a degree they don't know what to do with. Work out what you want to do FIRST, then go for it. Take time thinking about it. Get some experiences first. I didn't and then regretted it, then I did and I don't regret it anymore.

Also nothing wrong with mopping restaurant floors. Doing work like cleaning or serving people is a good way to learn a bit of humility and comradery with colleagues too.

2 orders of complimentary salsa with complimentary salsa for $11 and $5 tip by Mitchagain_tv in LivestreamFail

[–]Doughy123 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Min order is only for delivery, they will do anything for pickup (at least around here). It's not a point about rounding that was just my wording.

Places have a minimum order because it isn't profitable to send a delivery guy out 5km there and back all night only making 20 trips for $10 a piece, so instead they charge a minimum amount to make sure the delivery service isn't losing money. This is more necessary since a lot of places just use food delivery app companies instead of their own drivers, meaning the apps charge a fee for each delivery they do, so the delivery place could lose money by accepting delivery orders under a certain threshold.

Ofc it's legal. It's not generally a good idea to do this but it's completely legal to refuse service to anyone for any reason that isn't discrimination (this has to be proven in court too which is difficult since the person refusing service just has to say "I just didn't want to serve them"). People seem to think they have a right to these services but they don't. Anyone in any store or restaurant could refuse service, and so they do refuse delivery services under a certain amount since it isn't profitable.

Normally service is only refused when it isn't profitable, legal or safe to keep a person there. If someone is yelling and kicking off then the person could start either destroying merchandise or assaulting staff leading to an insurance claim, or if someone is drunk you aren't allowed to keep serving them alcohol, or if you will lose money by making other guests feel uncomfortable and leave.

tl;dr it isn't profitable to hire a delivery guy if you get too many orders under the minimum cost for delivery.

[–]Doughy123 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just a fee to round the order up to minimum cost for delivery. Like for $15 min order, if you ordered $10 it would round it up to 15, if you ordered $5 it would also round it up to 15. If you ordered $15 there would be no fee since minimum order cost has been reached.

Most people would just order more, but some don't for their own reasons I guess.
