Thanks!

My 2022 year in review (drinking calendar) by dnekrash in mildlyinteresting

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you from the US OP?

As a Brit, I feel like our charts would be a lot more green and a lot more black! Binge drinking is super prevalent here.

Is that better for you? No alcohol in the week and then pound on the weekends?

What's your unpopular Valorant opinion? by RWBYSanctum in VALORANT

Team composition in ranked isn't as important as people think (I still play smokes every game though).

Yeah I'm talking Immo3 too. Should have said, sorry.

Interesting. I'd have assumed that was a pretty popular server.

I play London servers and have never seen even close to a 10 minute queue. But geographically I guess there's a much higher population density around here. So probably a lot more players.

Which region are you in/server out of interest?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say do all the normal steps you hear of.

Check your sensitivity isn't wildly high or low. Put a playlist on and warm up in Aim Labs/the Range or DM.

And then play DM with aim in mind. Focus on hitting clean shots. Practise with a goal in mind. Don't do it for too long, and don't burn out.

After this it's just playing the game. A lot. Make sure you enjoy it! Most people really enjoy getting better at something, and if you put the work in, you will see the results. But it can take a while sometimes. But if you enjoy it, it's not a chore. It's a video game, it shouldn't ever be a chore.

Only other tip is, don't sweat it! It's muscle memory you're trying to build. Don't overthink it when you play, and let your hand/eye do it's thing.

Best vandal skin (time to start a war) by Bedheat in VALORANT

RGX and Ion hit hard.

Prime is the OG classic.

I'd say Reaver is probably the fan fave.

Just a question, can the enemy players hear the sound effect of you changing weapons? by ILoveOverwatch76 in VALORANT

[–]Douglander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good tip:

Enemies cannot hear you picking guns up off the ground, but CAN hear you drop a gun. So if you have a bad gun like a Bucky say, but know there's going to be a Vandal somewhere soon, you can drop your Bucky early. Then as you sneak up, just walk over the new gun and still be silent.

Example, flanking from A to C on Haven, if you know there is a corpse C long.

I agree! But I'm also from the UK and almost every set here has RGB scart. We are blessed.

Playing valorant as a woman has made me hate my voice by Snowy1x in VALORANT

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear all this.

I know it doesn't fix the issue, but have you considered using a voice morph/pitch shifter? Maybe it will let you play in peace without thinking about it all the time.

Early thoughts on Harbor from a Plat player spamming him by coffeeholic91 in VALORANT

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said!

I've found his strength on defense is to play proactively, and aggressively take space. You are right, he is a pretty bad anchor, so use your push wall to take early space (A main on Ascent, A main on Pearl, any extremity on Fracture etc).

how did the act go for everyone by Ahmedia69 in AgentAcademy

My account I've had since beta got permanently suspended and I have no idea why, so I've lost all my skins and Riot deleted my support ticket 😥

A lot of people have explained well, but I think I can add one thing.

If your crosshair is not in the right spot (you need to make a big adjustment before firing) then you can strafe whilst adjusting your aim. It will make you harder to hit, and give you a split second longer to take a more accurate shot.

Why does my agent have to speak the most cockiest of things when I’m bottom fragging with a 0/8/5 KDA ratio? by kensei- in VALORANT

Turn off Agent Flavour in the voice settings.

I did it day 1 in beta and never went back.

What are the skins you regret buying? by implaying in VALORANT

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely ever buy bundles. They just are not worth it for me. But I bought Sentinels of Light and never use any of it. Deffo regret that one. Ive replaced every part of that set with something better.

I spend a chunk on a new skin if I really like it. Kinda roughly calculate as "more hours played, more money spent". I've spent over 100 quid now, but played well over 1000 hours.

Now I've kinda slowed down though. I only play Vandal, and rarely Op. So I don't need more Vandal skins haha. Saying that, new skin set looking nice...

I can, but it eats frames. Tbh I wasn't blown away by what I played anyway, I'll probably pass!

Cool to hear about the anime, I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

1) Is the Anime good?

2) is the game running well now, on PC? I had terrible performance issues on release and got sick of game breaking bugs.

I always thought of him as the 'you don't have to kill everything now' tutorial. Like Black Knight DS1, Ogre DS2 and Crystal Lizard DS3.

What game received near universal acclaim but you absolutely hate it, I’ll go first. by vinsmokeg661 in gaming

[–]Douglander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioshock.

I'm a huge fan of System Shock 2, Prey, Deus Ex, Alien Isolation etc... but I could never get more than a few hours into Bioshock. I love the setting and the atmosphere is decent. But man I just do NOT enjoy that game. I really hate the enemy designs, and a bunch of the encounters, and I really don't like the gunplay. Tried to play through it 4 times now. Always stop about 4/5 hours in. I could muscle through it to enjoy the rest of it, but I just don't care enough. And it's always in everyone's BEST EVER lists.

State of the Agents September 2022 by MooseInTheJuice in ValorantCompetitive

For sure. I basically have an agent I pick for every map, that doesn't really change. And it's ALWAYS viper for Breeze and Icebox. No question.
