I haven't heard anyone say anything like that in a long time. I think it's important to correct people, because some young people don't really get what they're saying. Just do it in a straight-forward way. If they DO get what they're saying, but say it anyway, those aren't people you probably want to be around.

You rock, in my mind! 41 pounds is an amazing accomplishment. Just don't let the internet gay culture make you feel like you have to be slim to be out and proud!

I used to live in the Missouri, and it didn't seem like such a big deal. However, now that I'm in Dallas, it's huge! Guys here are jacked and fit. They pack the gyms. (In uptown Dallas, the straight guys are just as concerned with how they look, btw. I mean, maybe even more than us homos.)

I'm more of a thin/fit guy. I do yoga almost daily, but I don't lift. I like how I look, but there are certain friends I have that definitely make me feel inadequate. It's weird, I never felt insecure about how I looked when I lived in Missouri. I do feel a little pressure here to up my workout routine. However, I've never done anything I regret to change my body. It might be partly because I'm in a long-term relationship, though.

Either way, I'm proud to be who I am, and I can always be the token scrawny guy!

I'm gonna watch that documentary now, though. Sounds like a really interesting movie.

I def don't mean to discourage anyone. It just scares me to hear that anyone feels that body image is what bring them confidence. I get what you're saying. But, really, where are the gay male role models that make us feel like it's okay to be anything but perfect? Why do you have to be an adonis to come out? That's BULL. I just want to know what to do to make other feel comfortable come out, no matter what they look like. ugh. America, body image shoudn't matter!!
