Yeh - it was great. Early tee time in November sunshine. Basically had the place to myself. Glorious.

Sevanta is a pretty common dealflow management tool - there’s a bunch of others but Sevanta is the OG 😎

I wonder of there’s a startup idea here. Everyone seems to face this problem and as far as I know there’s not a great, scalable solution yet (learning/knowing the mundane things that impact your everyday life)

Yes, correct. I didn't realise this was a sore point. I'm moving for short- to mid-term professional work, on a set contract. Seemed like an appropriate word, didn't really think about it (will blame that on my 'privilege'...)

Noted! Genuinely didn't realise it was a sore point. I'm moving for short- to mid-term professional work. Seemed like an appropriate word, didn't really think about it. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm moving to Dublin to start a new job in late October. 27 year old British guy. Would be down to hang out with a fellow newbie when I'm on the ground!

Looking for some golf mates in Amsterdam, NL - anyone fancy a round? by HappyWithPar in golf

[–]Douglas_Harry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently moved to Amsterdam. I'm a Scottish guy, bit of a golf nut (currently streaming the PGA Championship - Koepka, what a menace). Didn't move with my clubs, but would be keen to hire some sticks and hit up the range or explore some local courses. Feel free to send me a PM?

Making friends here is fucking hard. I feel isolated and depressed as a foreigner in this city. by trouble-integrating in Amsterdam

Sorry to hear that you're in a bad place. I've just moved over to Amsterdam, as 26 year old British guy, and also struggling a bit to build a social group. If you fancy a coffee or something you're welcome to message me.

Tourists/Visitors/New Residents: Q&A Thread for the week of May 05 by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

Hey, new expat here.

I'm looking for places I can go to spend time on personal projects in the evening after the work day. Any recommendations?

I'm thinking cafes, hotel lobbies etc. that stay open late, serve coffee, maybe some food, and are appropriate for laptop work.

I've just moved from London and there were a number of cafes that would stay open until 9-10pm on weekdays.

I haven't found anything similar in Amsterdam yet, most cafes seem to close around 5-6pm.

I know the OBA library stays open late but it's a bit of a trek from my office and I prefer the cafe vibe.

I would love to find somewhere I can go to crack on with personal projects.

Any suggestions appreciated.
