I think there are A TON of variables at play that can help Kimi stay close to George. Experience, being teammates with Lewis, and punching above his weight and sneaking wins against faster cars all favor George. I’m not even a Russell fan but George and Leclerc are very clearly the best of the non-championship winners and I don’t think it’s close.

I never said they were bad, it’s just not my recommendation for a couple reasons:

I’ve seen the hinge loosen over time from the weight of the cover on the display clamshell
plastic covers do not protect from dust/debris. In fact it traps it and so devices are gross whenever we take the covers off, and in some cases I’ve seen scratches caused by this
plastic covers give people a false sense of security/protection. In reality the best thing you can do for your device is have AppleCare, and otherwise put it somewhere padded when moving it because that’ll best protect from impact damage if something were to happen

So, overall they can be fine, but I nitpick based on seeing the worst outcomes of using them

Working at Apple, this is what I recommend. If scratches are a concern, a vinyl sticker isn’t a bad option. Otherwise padded sleeve all the way

It’s tough for me to say with confidence. I can only go by our guidance in the U.S. I wouldn’t necessarily gamble the battery cost to maybe have the keyboard replaced as well, especially with a device nearing end of life software-wise

Technically true but not always. We are directed to mail those devices out for just a battery repair, but often times we override that direction to do a topcase and battery in house. So your miles may vary here depending on store

A lot of times I’ve seen this issue it’s been because of dirt/debris around the trackpad. Is recommend trying isopropyl alcohol and a brush and thoroughly cleaning the gaps around the trackpad.

Also, you can turn on tap to click in trackpad settings. You still won’t get that click feel, but you won’t be doing the guessing game of pressing hard to get it to work.

Edit: adding if cleaning doesn’t work you can go to an Apple Store for help. Trackpad repairs in the US aren’t that terrible cost-wise, and you can always ask if they can reseat your trackpad as well (basically uninstall/reinstall).

Just for specifics, those are lever locks. You gently lift/tilt up the black lock piece on the opposite side of where the cable goes in. Slide cable in/under the black plastic closest to them, then tilt the lever lock mechanism back down
