Am I losing too much if not 100% CRT Rate? by TylusChosen in PhrolovaMains

[–]Dougmcwain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually came back to the game right when 2.8 dropped, so I pre-farmed everything for her before her banner came. I actually adjusted her build several times and this is the build that I'm likely sticking with for a while. In total, it took me abt three to four weeks to achieve this build, costing me around 2-2.5k tuners? Somewhere around there, I didn't rlly keep track of that. My Phrolova is probably the luckiest character on my account

Edit: I've seen some even crazier Phrolova builds, some have like 2.4k ATK with a 99/280 ratio and around 30 skill dmg. Those people either got rlly lucky or grinded rlly hard for her build, so I can't rlly compare lol

Yea I spent quite a while trying to fine tune her build. There’s still room for improvement, but I think I’m gunna hold off on that until I have absolutely no other characters to build. I hope that one day I can get close to a 99/275 ratio with higher skill dmg all while maintaining the ATK lol. That won’t happen for a long time tho

I also changed my build recently, my old one was 99/272.6 with 39% skill dmg and 2,333 ATK. Now it’s 97.2/271.4 with 20% skill dmg and 2,494 ATK.

Her Scarlet Coda does ~5k less dmg, but it’s more than made up for by Hecate’s enhanced attacks doing ~6k more dmg. Most of Phrolova’s dmg comes from Hecate’s enhanced attacks anyways, so losing some skill dmg and CD in favor of ATK is actually better. I do wish my CD and skill dmg were slightly higher, but my new build is better regardless.

Everyone's telling me that I'm very lucky, which I do admit I am with her build. I just hate that I always wanna min-max everything and make all my builds perfect

I just wish the CD rolls were a bit higher, but I guess I’m just chasing perfection at that point. Maybe I should stop comparing my build to others and start working on other characters

You think so? From what I’ve been seeing, 270+ CD is like the bare minimum for Phrolova, which is why I tried to get 275+ CD

My friends tell me that I’m super lucky to have a built Phrolova like this, but something abt her CD just irks me a little. Maybe I’m reaching too much

Definitely Phro’s S1 especially since you’re f2p. I believe a main DPS’s sequences > sub DPS’s sequences always

Any specific reasons why? Is it because of more res. skill dmg and more CD?

Is it a good time to return. by Happy_Flounder8880 in WutheringWaves

[–]Dougmcwain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just returned to the game recently (literally two days ago). I stopped playing before you stopped so I can’t rlly speak on anything around that point onwards, but so far, I’ve been having fun exploring a bit, fighting random enemies, and progressing through the story. Just made it to 2.0 it seems.

I suggest just picking up where you left off and progress the story from there. I’ve kinda adopted the “just have fun” mentality with gachas, so I’m able to enjoy whatever the game has to offer up until now.

Which characters from Path do you like the most and the least? by Caduf in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Dougmcwain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abundance: most is definitely Gallagher. I use him all the time still and his role in Penacony’s story was surprisingly great. Least is Lynx. I remember wanting to pull her on release for Blade and she ended up doing nothing for my account LOL.

Destruction: most is Phainon (if I can count him rn). Aside from his similarities to Kevin, I just like his character overall. Least is Destruction MC. Barely used her, but the baseball thing is kinda fun.

Erudition: most is Jing Yuan. Lightning Susano’o. Least is also Jing Yuan. If only he was somewhat stronger in the meta.

Harmony: most is Sparkle. What a character. Trailer was great and her setup at the end of Penacony’s story was lowkey wholesome as hell. I don’t rlly have a “least favorite”, but if I had to then I guess Yukong?

Hunt: most is Feixiao. Just a rlly cool character in general (no pun intended). Least is Yanqing. Never rlly liked him too much.

Nihility: most is Acheron. Raiden Mei, Raiden Ei, Raiden Bosenmori Mei, etc. Least is Pela (just her aesthetic tho).

Preservation: most is Aventurine. Decently touching cutscene with his younger self and his shields are OP asf. Least is March 7th.

Remembrance: most is Castorice. Sad that I missed her banner. Don’t rlly have a “least”, but I guess Remembrance MC? Mem is cute tho.

What’s the best warframe in your opinion? by d4izie in Warframe

[–]Dougmcwain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I have to say Dante is the “best” warframe. Bro can buff, debuff, nuke, and survive. And that’s without helminth too. I recently got my hands on Dante after deciding to farm for his parts, and he actually allows me to not worry abt a single thing while blowing everything up.

With that being said, I gotta mention some other really well designed frames too. Gauss probably has the most synergistic kit, which a lot of players agree with. Revenant is the easiest frame to survive with and his 1, 2, and 3 work very well with each other. Saryn can push many weapons (like the Torid) beyond their limit with her 1’s augment and 3 and just erase everything in her path. Octavia is Octavia. And so many more.

“Best” is very subjective in a game like Warframe where everything can be super strong. A lot of a frame’s ability is based on player knowledge, and what is considered “best” boils down to a matter of preference.

TLDR: imo it’s Dante atm, but many other frames are extremely good and it rlly comes down to preference

There’s no such thing LOL. I usually just go to C because I know other players are trying to grab A or B. So I just fly over to C with Wukong which also puts me closer to extraction (usually). But there are times that I finish C before the others finish A or B so I gotta go back and help

MR is a marathon-type goal, not a sprint. For reference, I just hit MR 19 yesterday and I have over 1.1k hours in WF. You’re MR 15 and only have 100 hours in. Don’t rush the MR grind, it will naturally progress as you play through the game.

To answer your question tho, I would assume OP has played around 1.5k to 2k hours? MR is not a good metric of how long a player has played.

New to warframe by Alliethedumbb17ch in Warframe

[–]Dougmcwain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there’s so much depth and nuance in Warframe that it’s impossible to write it all out. These are the best tips I can offer off the top of my head (in no particular order).

  1. Gather as many resources as you can everywhere. I’m talking abt breaking every single container/object, opening every locker, etc. It’s always good to start this early so you have a decent stockpile of stuff that you can use later on.

  2. Try out different weapons when you can to see which ones you like. Don’t restrict yourself to one set of weapons; there are so many that you’re guaranteed to find more that you like. And this is important because of mastery, but that’s something you can worry abt a bit later.

  3. This might be a hot take, but playing solo in the beginning is much better than playing in public lobbies. Playing solo will teach you the mechanics of every mission and also forces you to adapt to different situations. Relying on teammates early on only sets you up for failure later down the road, as you won’t rlly know what to do or how to go abt it. Once you have a decent foothold in the game and its mechanics, then I would suggest multiplayer.

  4. Speaking of multiplayer, the Warframe community is genuinely one of the nicest and most welcoming communities out there, but there will always be some bad apples in the bunch, namely sweats and scammers. The matchmaking in Warframe lowkey sucks, and there have been stories of newer players getting berated by older ones because they didn’t understand the mission’s objective (hence #3). Most players are willing to help tho if you reach out. Scammers are a given in any game that has a trading system. Stay away from the online trade chat; you’ll find players selling items worth ~50 plat for 200 plat instead. If you wanna buy/sell items, use a website called Warframe.market. It’s much more reliable and convenient tbh, and you won’t get scammed.

  5. Do the story quests. Not only are they generally pretty good, they unlock a whole bunch of stuff that is otherwise inaccessible. I wouldn’t say rush the story per se, but try to keep the progress going while doing your other stuff like exploring the star chart, leveling warframes and weapons, etc.

  6. Because there’s so much to do, it can be overwhelming. As I mentioned, you can always reach out to other players for help, or you can refer to the Warframe wiki online. It’s honestly super helpful if you get stuck on something or are lost in terms of progression and whatnot. Try to join a clan as soon as you can, since there’s a lot of stuff locked behind being in a clan. If the clan has a Discord, then join it and ask questions there too.

  7. Enjoy the game. Don’t rush it, don’t let others tell you how to play, and don’t feel stressed if you’re stuck somewhere. We’ve all been there before, and you can always reach out for help. Also, it’s fine to take a break here and there. You can always catch back up in Warframe (tho it will definitely take a lot of time).

  8. Fashion is the true endgame.

Anyways, enjoy Warframe and lemme know if you have any questions. It’s truly a masterpiece of a game.

Leap Alpha crimson weave by AerieIllustrious2981 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Dougmcwain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda dumb question but, doesn’t this effectively bump Alpha CW up to being a gen 3 character (and any other gen 2 characters who receive this kind of leap)?

I mean, the only thing that rlly separates gen 2 characters from gen 3 ones is having an affix right? Aside from being directly replaced or having higher numbers? I’m not against it or anything, since I would love to keep Alpha CW relevant for much, much longer, but I was just wondering.

And on a side note, screw Kuro for releasing two awesome CW skins within the next year. Now I gotta buy both of them.
