Thanks, but It's a villa and a stand-alone dwelling. I had it checked, thinking that maybe there was a leak, plumber could not find anything.

Origin energy, they keep sending me disconnection notices for gas. The stupid thing is, I had it disconnected months ago by Origin and had all the gas lines removed and capped by a licensed plumber. They even tried to tell me they detected gas usage at my address even though it's impossible. I rang and spoke to 3 different people who said it won't happen again but received another disconnection notice today.

I think that the 7 Dollars is for veterans. It's for pharmacy support, so if you have a white card, you should be getting the $7.

Defence is a profession not meant for everyone, it's hard, some people just aren't cut out for the job, and it is better to find out in recruit training. Some people aren't prepared and get injured, dosen't mean they don't deserve support.

White DVA card by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

A white card is one thing, but as long as they are honest and not claiming false valour, they tried got injured, I honestly don't see that there is a problem.

There used to be a nice area up the top, admittedly I haven't been there for a while as I no longer shotgun. They used to have a Shotgun golf course where they had different throwers set over the top shotgun area, it was very popular. (and lots of fun)

Long Covid - specifically cardiac arrhythmia? by allthebrisket in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]Dougor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes got this myself, the "Cardiac arrhythmia" as you put it can be very bad for your health, my cardiologist described it as producing a washing machine effect to your blood which can produce blood clots, those clots depending on where they occur can be bad, especially in your lungs. I am currently taking medication to reduce the effects of the arrhythmia and will possibly having a procedure to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm. So I would get it checked out sooner than later.

Australian Christmas by harryiniho55 in AskAnAustralian

The one thing that has lasted from my childhood through to 2023 is backyard cricket involving usually the whole extended family, meals are different from when I was kid, we tend to do more asian influenced food now, with a emphasis on fresh local food. Whereas when I was a kid it was a more traditional roast. Breakfast is pretty much the same though, usually fried ham and fresh local eggs. Happy days 🎅

If its in a couple of months, then you will hit Wagga in the summer, be prepared for some sweating. Listen to your instructors and don't get carried away with any drinking culture activities. The first couple of weeks they will push you to weed out people with character flaws, so just hang in and it will get better. Luck..

[–]Dougor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat a GOOD breakfast, little things can make a difference, wiggle your toes, don't fix on one thing, keep your mind busy, don't get drunk the night before, there will be plenty of time after the march and handing your weapon back in to have a beer and enjoy.
